Try again with these clocks. Lately many of us had trouble. ;)

Try these. The directions on where to put the code is at the bottom of this list.

Update on 5 clocks

1. The Cruise Critic Countdown Clocks

So easy to do, and all on one page. Put in all the information you want, create your code and copy and paste.

Just go to the top of the page and click on Countdown Clocks.

2.This clock below has two links. They will link to the same form, with the same results. I use this type.

http://www.echlforums.com/clock.htm

http://*****/

With this one it will say, "Generate Clock for CruiseCritic!" Copy and paste it into your signature box..

3.New Link http://www.tickerfactory.com/ezticke...e=4&sub_type=7

Scroll down to the word EVENT ( on the list on the right) Click on that to start. When done, copy the bb code and paste it into your signature box..

4. New Link http://www.ucruiser.com/ticker/

Go through the four easy steps and highlight and copy the second box down then paste it into your signature box.

This is what you will see:

PseudoHTML, UBBCode or BBCode

Use for Cruisecritic.com and similar board signatures

Used on many message boards that don't allow HTML.

5. This one is really easy to do.

All they want you to do is sign in now and they will explain why. It is still free.

New Link http://www.nauticalcities.com/tickers.php

Once you have a clock picked out and have copied the code.

To get to your signature box, go to the top of the page where it says "Cruise Critic Message Boards.

Right under that you will see USER CP on the left

Click on that. When it opens click on EDIT SIGNATURE.

Paste your clock in the second box down. Click on PREVIEW POST. If it looks right, click on SAVE SIGNATURE.

You can go here to the Test Forum where I have a thread where you can try them all out. Scroll to the bottom of the page I posted below and you will find all of these directions.

http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=359934&page=7

Have fun trying them.

Thanks for posting the link to the different countdown clocks. However, my problem is that the pictures in the signatures are now showing as red "x"s. I wonder if this is because of a browser change (to Internet Explorer 8), but they also do not show if I use Mozilla. Any ideas? (I have a CruiseCritic countdown in my signature, but I can't see it.)

There is a browser incompatability problem, mainly with Firefox users and the CC based clocks. Do your clock using IE browser, load it up as normal. Close down the IE and restart Firefox and it should be OK. Any edits done also required to be done via IE browser otherwise you'll get the red x in the corner.

Does this mean I won't be able to see the signatures in IE? I can't see mine or any of the other ones that are created through Cruise Critic - just the red x

I can see the clocks from other sources. But I really like the CC ones best.

Can you see my countdown clock for the Christmas cruise?

I use Firefox and can see your clocks.

I believe its the setting up of clocks that seems to throw the system into knots for some reason. Try redoing the clocks in IE, then go back to Firefox and see what happens.

I had the same trouble when I tried setting CC clocks with Firefox...I gave up in the end :o

I can see your clock and it is fine. ;) Can you see your other clock? If not,

(I will put this in here for others reading this anyway) ;)

Go up the the USERCP.

Go down to EDIT OPTIONS and click it open.

Go to the right of the page and read down the right of the page to:

Thread Display Options

Visible Post Elements: You have the option to show or hide various elements of messages, which may be of use to users on slow internet connections, or who want to remove extraneous clutter from posts.

Show Signatures

Show Avatars

Show Images (including attached images and images in code)

Make sure they are checked if you want to see others signatures and pictures.

If you chose not to, uncheck them.

That's most of the problem. On my computer with auto updates, running IE 8 the CC clocks don't show. On the computer without updates, still running an older version, I see all the clocks. Every now and then (or so I hear) the CC clocks show up and then disappear again. The IT folks are supposed to be working on it, but then again, it's not supposed to be incompatible, either......:D I finally gave up and went back to an older type clock. Tried the ucruiser clocks for a while until the domain got ****'ed, but I see yours just fine.

It must be the IE 8 that is the problem. I can't even see the pictures when I go into the Countdown Clocks to make a signature clock. I really don't like IE 8, but it was installed on a work computer, so what am I to do? I can't see any CC signature clocks in Firefox either. I can see the other types of signature clocks, so I may just go with that for both of my countdowns.

Thanks,

Sherryl

I installed that IE 8 and my computer gave me nothing but trouble. It was terrible.

So I un installed it. Now I pick and chose my installments, (no more automatic updates) and I refuse that one. I just stay on 7.

I was lucky enough to realize I hated it soon enough to restore it back to 7.

Woo hoo! I can see the countdown clocks again! I am so excited! :D

Don't know what changed, don't really care. I am just excited that the clocks are working where I can see them. Thanks everyone for being so patient with me last week.
