bluehawks47 Posted July 17, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 17, 2009 We will be in Grand Cayman in March 2010 off the Century. We are looking for a laid back beach with a fun beach bar/restaurant.......nothing fancy at all. We don't have to have, but it might be nice to have a kayak or jet ski to rent. I found some information on Owen Island or Cayman Kai. Does anyone know anymore about either of these. If they are too secluded, I am worried about catching a cab back to the ship. Also, how far would either be from the Georgetown (I think that is where we get dropped off)? Thank you and if you have any other suggestions, I would greatly appreciate them. caribsun Posted July 17, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 17, 2009 Owen island is about 90 miles from Grand Cayman. Most tourist go to Sea Grape or The Reef Grill on 7 Mile Beach which is just a 15 min. mini bus ride from the tender pier.
bookbabe Posted July 18, 2009 #3 Share Posted July 18, 2009 Cayman Kai is more commonly referred to as Rum Point here on CC...and it's a 45 minute drive from Georgetown. Stick with Seven Mile Beach if you don't want to rent a car or take an excursion.
