desmon Posted December 23, 2004 #3 Share Posted December 23, 2004 Sorry to disagree, but there was no door on the balcony that opened to the adjoining balcony when we were on the Veendam in Oct 03. Might have changed since then...
newcruisers04 Posted December 23, 2004 #4 Share Posted December 23, 2004 Just off the Veendam last weekend and from what I could see, there was no way to open partitions between balconies. We were on the Verandah deck (9) cabin 151--mid ship sorta and just under the casino area I believe. Nice big room and lounge chair; table and one chair on the balcony. Great for breakfast on sea days
dakrewser Posted December 23, 2004 #5 Share Posted December 23, 2004 Must be my holiday-fogged mind having extended senior moments, then. True, it's been 5 years since I was last on the Veendam, but I thought I remembered connection doors. Was I confusing it with the Volendam? Pincus Posted December 23, 2004 #6 Share Posted December 23, 2004 Newcruiser04, was the balcony large enough to have breakfast for two? Thanks.
cruzincurt Posted December 23, 2004 #7 Share Posted December 23, 2004 We were just on the Veendam last month. The verandah is large enough for breakfast, and no they aren't able to be opened. Perhaps in the adjoining rooms only can they be opened.

terry55 Posted December 29, 2004 #10 Share Posted December 29, 2004 We splurged on our Veendam Alaska cruise 8/03 and has S023. There was no way for the partitions to open from what I remember. On that balcony there was a good size round table w/4 chairs and 2 lounge chairs. Yes, we were spoiled by that size balcony and don't think I'll be able to book that again, but I loved every minute of it!!
cruzincurt Posted December 29, 2004 #11 Share Posted December 29, 2004 On the sceond class deck below, the Verandah deck, our balcony only had a small table, one chair and one chaise lounge.
