Enchantment Review July 11-16th

Recommended Posts

This was our first RCCL cruise. Have cruised previously on Carnival Paradise, Glory and Miracle. We drove to Ft Lauderdale from OKC. Pre-cruise stay at Hyatt Place in Ft Lauderdale was nice. Arrived at port approx 11:00AM. Parked our car in parking garage across the street from ship. We opted to do this vs leaving at hotel for several reasons...1. able to park in garage out of the sun. 2. Had another cruise planned for same day of disembarkation in Port Canaveral so needed to get on the road quickly.

Embarkation was very speedy. Checked in without delay, had us sit down for less than 5 minutes, then they let us board!

We had to wait for Windjammer to open approx 30 minutes.

The ship was nice, we had an interior room on deck 7aft. No complaints.

Room steward very nice, but forgot to pull my sons bed down first night. Had to call at

midnight to get someone to pull it down. Other than that, he was excellent.

Food: I will have to agree with previous posters that Carnival does have much better food.

In taste and in variety. Did not have anything bad though. We did eat in the Windjammer

2 nights as we didn't feel like dressing for dinner. Thought the food there was good.

Teen Club: Our 13yo son had a very good time. We saw him very little. We often would

look into teen club windows to find he and his friends laughing and having fun.

Grand Cayman: Took a taxi to Cemetary Beach for snorkeling. Enjoyed the beach.

Very pretty and clean. From there we took a taxi to Sea Grape Beach. My son and I

parasailed. Hubby stayed in boat and took pics. We enjoyed the parasail. Was hoping

to see Sea Turtles or Dolphins while in the air, but didn't. The scenery was beautiful though. From here we caught another taxi to shop before getting back on ship.

Cozumel: This was the highlight of our cruise... Did the Underwater Scooters.

It was very cool! The scooters go very slow and we had divers go down with us approx 20 feet, to guide us around. Totally recommend this excursion.

Activities: I had heard not to miss the Quest game. It was a hoot! Some people have no modesty...LOL! Enjoyed the evening shows. Only played Bingo twice. Felt the cost was way more than willing to spend. Played very little in casino...too smoky.

It is my opinion that RCCl and Carnival are more alike than they are different. We will cruise RCCL again, as we also will try different lines in the future.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Tina
