NCL Gem-Meeting Son In Florence

We are on the Gem Oct 1 and my son is going to meet us in Florence for the day. We are on the shore excursion that takes you to Florence, drops you off and picks you up 5-6 hrs later. Anybody know the drop off point in Florence. If not, where is a logical point for him to meet us, the museum where David is located??? He works for the State Dept and has nothing to do with the cruise.
