Embarkment and Disembarkment

Hi. Leaving for Alaska on the Celebrity Infinity in Sept.

I just got the paperwork from Celebrity and they said that the earliest you can embark at Pier 66 in Seattle is 12 pm. Does this sound about right or can you get on the ship earlier? If I want to be one of the first people on board (Have Concierge Class so I have embarkment priority) what time should I get to Pier 66? I want to avoid the rush and get on the boat as early as possible. I realize that you probably wont be able to get into your stateroom. Do they really offer you champagne when you get onboard and escourt you to your stateroom? Will they do this if you get there before your room is ready?

Also, I believe you disembark by color code? How late can you disembark the boat? I believe the boat gets into port around 6 am but what time do they do "last call" for everybody to leave? We dont have to rush off the boat so we were thinking about taking a nice breakfast and then strolling off the boat after the rush.

I believe somebody mentioned that they stayed at the Quality Inn and they had a shuttle bus which took you to the hotel. If anybody had experience with this and could tell me their experiences with this, that would be great too.

Thanks in advance and happy sailing:o

we just returned from the Infinity -- we were at the pier at 11 am and boarded at 11:15...went right to the Spa and made appointments. Then to the buffet for that first meal. They did greet us with a glass of champagne, but we were not escorted to the cabins, as you were not able to go to the cabin intil about 1 pm. We had CC cabin, but the priority embarkation was not needed as we were among the first onboard anyway. We used the time to explore the ship and get our bearings.

On the last day, we got up about 7:30, left our things in the room and went down for breakfast. We stayed in our room until about 9ish and then just walked right off the ship. We had one of the last debarkation times, as we had a late flight.

It was probably one of the smoothest embarkations and debarkations I have experienced.

We stayed at a Quality Inn near the airport and arranged in advance for a town car service to pick us up and take us to the pier and then at the ship to the airport. We called as we were leaving the ship and they were there waiting for us when we go to the curb. It was great!!! The town car prices and taxi fares are the same, but you don't have to wait in line for the taxi.

You are going to love the cruise. If you haven't already do it, you really need to dine in the United States one night. It was the most amazing dining experience I have ever had...so worth the $30!

Have a great time!!!

BTW -- if you are planning to do any touring in Seattle, treat yourself to the Ride the Ducks tour -- it was a blast and we saw some of Seattle we wouldn't have normally seen... they can be found online...

Hi,

We will be on the Infinity in less than 3 weeks. My fellow co-worker came back from the Infinity sailing last month and I was able to scan the Celebrity daily schedule and uploaded it on the internet for everyone to see.

As you can see from day 1’s schedule, the earliest time you are allowed to board is 11 AM. Which is earlier than the “official time” that HQ sent you. We plan to be at the pier just after 11 to be on the ship early as well. Since the word may not be out that you can board at 11, so hopefully the line will be short early.

If you or anyone like a copy of the daily in PDF (sometimes it’s harder to see the details online), go ahead and email me at Harryfat@Yahoo.com and I will send that to you.

Hi,

As I mentioned in my post above, we will be on the Infinity in 3 weeks and if you don't mind, can I ask couple follow up question from your post:

1 - What towncar company did you use and the cost of each leg of transfer?

2 - We plan to do the duck tour as well. I know they run every 30 minutes, so were you able to get on the very next tour or did you have to wait awhile for an open tour?

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Usually 11:30-noon is the earliest you can get on the ship. The previous passengers are supposed to be off by 9 - 9:30, so there's only a 2 hour window there for them to clean everything and get ready for you!

Yes, they really do greet you with champagne, and escort you to your stateroom, particularly those of you lucky enough to cruise in Concierge Class! :)

It usually takes an hour to an hour-and-a-half from the time the ship reaches port to the first passengers getting off. Last call is around 9 or 9:30. You'll decide the day before when you want to get off, and pick up color coded tags labeled with the appropriate time. Your luggage will be collected and "pooled" together with other folks leaving at the same time, so when you get off the ship you'll look for the appropriate color of tags and (hopefully!) find your bags, then make your way through customs and on your way.

Disembarking is never leisurely, though...always lots of people, always delays and back-ups, so it'll always be crowded and frustrating.
