Voyager - Port or Starboard for Cozumel?

Recommended Posts

I'll also post this question on the "Cabin Selection" board. We're booked on a Western Caribbean cruise on the Voyager out of Galveston for 2010. This will be our 3rd or 4th cruise on this ship but I can not remember if the ship docks on the port or starboard side in Cozumel. (Or does it depend on which slot is open?) The best part of this cruise is hanging over our balcony watching those that had one too many Margaritas scramble to get onboard before the (By the way, there are great resident and military discounts!) I've fallen so behind in keeping up with these boards for the past 6 months so please excuse if this subject has been hashed and rehashed lately. Is the Voyager scheduled for dry dock anytime before the 2010 season?

Most people will say you never know since it depends on how the captain "parks" the ship too - sometimes he/she heads in, sometimes he/she backs in. If you end up on the wrong side, pick a spot on deck and watch away. You're right - it's usually an interesting show. I have a memory of a tender arriving (post hurricane - no docks) past the last tender time and a very unconcerned group of very drunk passengers dancing away on its second level while the tender captain waited for the ferry from Tulum to unload its passengers. If the ferry hadn't been late (cruise ship sponsored excursion), then the tender passengers would have been dancing on the docks.

Most people will recommend port, but you never really know for sure

Exactly. been 3 times, each time port. but you never know! Besides, if you're on the "wrong" side, just go up to deck 12 and watch the drama!
