sdel65 Posted July 25, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 25, 2009 Hi everyone, I'm planning to take a cruise with my kids on Carnival Pride. It is my first time when I have the Balcony cabin ( Panorama deck). Could you please describe me the balcony and how safe is it , considering that I have active kids. I'm intending to lock it, but does it have a safety high rised window/glass outside? Is anything there to prevent from falling out of the balcony? I appreciate your comments and i have to admit I'm very worried now because of my active kids. Please help. Thank you Sofia
cb at sea Posted July 25, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 25, 2009 You would really have to "work' to "fall" overboard....it's drunken adults that go over---never has a child fallen off a ship. It's up to you to take care of your children...they haven't ever fallen out of a building or off a deck, have they??? Then, there's no reason to think they'll fall off the ship. Lay down the law, and tell them the rules of behavior on a cruise...that's YOUR job!
TicTac#2 Posted July 25, 2009 #3 Share Posted July 25, 2009 In addition to the good advice above.... Pride has glass a balcony with a teak rail above which is about 48' above the deck. There is no way to squeeze between the glass partitions. The door has a top lock which may be out of reach without a chair for most small kids. a rule to never stand on any chair when aboard the ship. sdel65 Posted July 25, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted July 25, 2009 Hey, thank you all. Of course there are rules in place for the kids. I'm just a very concerned parent... I feel better now.:) thank you again! Sofia
serene56 Posted July 25, 2009 #5 Share Posted July 25, 2009 Even as an adult I have a hard time opening the balcony door. (its really sucked closed) make sure the cabin door is closed before you open the balcony door--- or everyhting gets sucked to the other side of the room. We took our 18 month old GD on her first cruise-- she understood that when she was out there it was only for sitting. she did good. No climbing etc.
