cruiseblue Posted July 26, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 26, 2009 Never been to GC so need a help on deciding what to do. We narrowed down to between 2 choices: Nativeway tour to Reef, Ray & Rumpoint OR a nice relaxing beach day with some snorkeling? Beach Day: where is the best beach besides Rum Point? I am hearing Sea Grape or Royal Palm, what are these places? Is Nativeway Tour worth the money? Is it too short? We will be in Cayman from 9am-4pm. daynab Posted July 26, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 26, 2009 We did the Nativeway tour a few years ago. It was fantastic. We loved it. We are considering it again for this coming trip. From what I am hearing the sandy beaches aren't great for snorkeling. Sea Grape and Royal Palms are really just sandy beaches with spectacular water. jean-lynd Posted July 27, 2009 #3 Share Posted July 27, 2009 daynab is correct. The snorkeling will be much better if you take the tour. The snorkeling at Sea Grape or Reef Grill will not me nearly as good. These areas are known for their beautiful sand beach and that does not go well with good snorkeling. We haven't done the tour that you describe but it does seem to meet your needs of good snorkeling and beach time. If you have time after the tour you could always head to Sea Grape or the Reef Grill and just enjoy the beach without snorkeling. I hope this helps! Enjoy! mpalmer Posted July 27, 2009 #4 Share Posted July 27, 2009 We did the tour with NativeWay that you are asking about in 2006. It was great. We paid $60 each, we weren't able to go to Rum Point because they had closed due to bad weather the day before. NativeWay gave us each $30 back. I thought that was impressive. There was only about 10 people on our boat. Mona
