Why take the same ship to the same ports?

How's everything up in CT? We're originally from South Windsor. Are you at Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun and are the casinos busy this time of year? Just curious.

Well hello!! Other than cold up here and expecting snow today everything is nice. I work at Foxwoods and yes, people find the time and money during the holidays to keep us busy. I've been off since Thursday so i don't know how busy it was during Christmas Eve or the day but before those days it was busy and will be busy everyday from now on. Eventhough i am from Puerto Rico, i've been in CT for the last 13 years and i live in Gales Ferry (Ledyard-Groton area, next to the sub base). Take care!!

PD: I should've known with that UConn Huskies avatar!

Hi:

We often cruise on the Rhapsody of the Seas because it is the best ship in Texas. The size of the ship is perfect, the crew is outstanding, the service is great. What more could one ask for? Most of the staff knows who I am or has seen me on the ship, they remember me...it feels like family. Even the entertainers remember who I am and we sit and talk while on the cruise. Many passengers have approached me asking me if I work on the ship because they always see me chatting with a crew member.

The port of calls are ok, but my vacation is on the ship, not on shore. When you have such a wonderful experience, and continue to get that feeling, why change to another ship? We tried Carnival in August 2004....big mistake. We tried Princess in Nov.2004, nice, but it doesn't cut it for us, we are Rhapsody fanatics.

Right now, Galveston caters to Celebrity, RCI, Carnival and Princess. I've tried three out of four and prefer to stay with the Rhapsody of the Seas. The crew loves the Texas crowd.

Fausto,

I was wondering what all you like better on the Rhapsody over the Grand. I have been on the Grand and the Star, and also RCCL Grandeaur. I always like to hear what people like better on another ship/line.

Thanks!

If i lived near a port, it would be for convenience for sure. Here in Minnesota, quite a few (10-15%) of homeowners also own a cabin "up north". This is where most of them spend 2 of 4 weekends a year relaxing and entertaining. the third weekend is maintenance such as mowing, fixing, and building new projects.

My take on it is that there are so few (relatively) destinations available in the time frame most people have: 7 nights or less. Budget is another consideration. I cannot (will not) spend more than $3000 for 2 people on a week, including air,bar tab, gifts, etc. Being fas of RCCL, this also limits our choices.

You can think of it like this:

I have a favorite restaurant, and I go once a month. I like the service and the atmosphere. Oh, sure, there are others that serve the same food, but it just isn't the same. A cruise is similar, you get to know everything about the ship and ports, and it makes a very relaxing time, like being at home.

I pay less for my cruising than a timeshare, and we are more flexible on the times.

deron,

The Elation and the Rhapsody are almost exactly the same. There are a few differences in the deck layout but I can't remember what they are. Both crews were very friendly and since they both sailed out of Galveston, the passangers were friendly too. Our Elation cruise was a 10 day over Thanksgiving so that made a difference. We would sail on either ship again in a heart beat.

hello all,It's not about the ship or the destinations. It's about the cruise.I have been to the bahamas six times and the western caribbean four.Next month we go to the western caribbean again.Only seasoned cruisers would understand.
