ChaylaT Posted July 27, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 27, 2009 I just booked the Dream and afterwards the PVP said to me, "It looks like a fantastic ship. They even have a MONORAIL on board!" Now I know this is just false info obtained from a You Tube video but don't you think the PVP's would know better?! JerseyshoreBruce Posted July 27, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 27, 2009 Truthfully nothing suprises me anymore after what I dealt with this year with the PVP's too! Never had trouble before till the economy went down the drain and they must have got rid of the more knowledgable PVP's.
cruizer4662 Posted July 27, 2009 #3 Share Posted July 27, 2009 Say it isn't so, a PVP gave wrong info, that would be a first, RIGHT!!!!:D:D
sa7776 Posted July 27, 2009 #4 Share Posted July 27, 2009 When I booked directly with the cruiselines I always tried to talk with them a bit to get a sense of their knowledge about the cruising in general. I found that many times my knowledge exceeded theirs as many had never even been on a cruise. You have to remember that they are probably trained to know where to go to look for the info whether on their computers or manuals. Most of them have to "check with a supervisor" if you ask any out of the ordinary questions or make any unusual requests. When I first started cruising I almost changed my mind about a certain cruise because someone at that cruise lines (not CCL) told me golf was not available at one of the ports. I found out later from the TA that I decided to use that golf was indeed available and she arranged it. Based on some of my past experiences yours doesn't surprise me at all. flounder315 Posted July 27, 2009 #5 Share Posted July 27, 2009 I was so dissappointed when my PVP moved on, he sent me a card giving me a new PVP, but never could make contact with the new person. Ended up just calling the 1-800 # to book.

urbanhawk Posted July 27, 2009 #7 Share Posted July 27, 2009 Wow a monorail? :p I guess it has one, as it's a bigger ship..the next class of ships only have the movable walkways, like at the airports!!!
BlueJacketsFan1 Posted July 27, 2009 #8 Share Posted July 27, 2009 If you read enough of the posting here, you will see that people get a lot of bad information from PVPs. Which is why my wife and I will stay with the TA that we have used for all of our cruises.
Georgiagolfer Posted July 27, 2009 #9 Share Posted July 27, 2009 PVP's are like TA's, some good, some not so good. DW and I have a great PVP, so I guess we're lucky.:D

fpslim Posted July 27, 2009 #12 Share Posted July 27, 2009 I used to have a great one, but she went on to a contract selling future cruises aboard one of the conquest class ships. I'm glad she's still with Carnival, but sad 'cause she isn't my PVP anymore. Her replacement leaves a lot to be desired... So now I understand all the complaints, because for the first time I'm experiencing them myself!!
Legend Posted July 27, 2009 #13 Share Posted July 27, 2009 Hi Bob can I ask what your PVP's initials were? My PVP did that but she is back working in the office now so maybe it's the same person.

Megnolia Posted July 27, 2009 #15 Share Posted July 27, 2009 Hey now, that monorail really put Ogdenville and North Haverbrook on the map! Well, sir, there's nothing on earth like a genuine, bona fideelectrifiedsix rail Monorail!
Pegs222 Posted July 27, 2009 #16 Share Posted July 27, 2009 Of course the Dream has a Monorail, guess that means it is a land ship  This is one of may reasons I will never use a PVP again. I bet that you could put 20 PVP's in a room, ask them just one question, and you would get 20 different answers. Who trains these morons?

robsvacation Posted July 27, 2009 #18 Share Posted July 27, 2009 Well, sir, there's nothing on earth like a genuine, bona fideelectrified six rail Monorail! I'm sure RCCL's next monorail will have 7 rails just to be better! And their electrified monorail will be jet powered too! PVP's, I take it, are not making $100K/year booking $800PP cruises, and let's face it 1/2 the people on these boards follow the industry and have been cruising for years (not to mention there is a sum total of 1000's of opinions here) But a monorail is a little wacky, I will admit!
