Puntarenas on your own ???

This is where we were supposed to dock, but we actually docked in Caldera. There was nothing within walking distance of the pier and I understand it is the same at Punteras. There were lots of drivers available to take you on a tour. Unfortunately due to road construction a lot of people didn't make it all the way into San Jose and had to turn around so they didn't miss the ship. Even the tour buses were running late from the ship getting back, so make sure you keep your eye on the time in this port!

We had a great time and no problems, but it is something to be aware of!
