Froufie Posted August 11, 2009 #51 Share Posted August 11, 2009 The add on taxes and fees, you only pay once if you are sailing solo. Then how come when I did a booking the taxes/fees were $77.16 whether I booked as a single or double? Shouldn't that charge be less for a solo? nycruise Posted August 11, 2009 #52 Share Posted August 11, 2009 Carnival directly is asking a full double price for a balcony cabin and 1/2 the taxes and government fees. Here is my current quote from Carnival with fees and taxes broken out from the Carnival website. Cruise Rate $1,878.00 Gov't Fees & Taxes $132.12 Total Amount $2,010.12 for a double. A single pays $1,944.06 ($2,010.12 less $66.06)

Shouldn't that charge be less for a solo? maybe Im saying it confusing ... the taxes and fees are the same for one person, no matter how many in the cabin or which category. They are per person. Sailing solo, you pay one set of taxes and fees, not two, even though you pay twice for any cabin 4A and up, you only pay once for the fees and taxes. (its the port charges which are included in the cruise fare that people are complaining about paying twice, because they are a lot more than the taxes and fees added on).
