Maho beach question

This looks like something my fiancee would LOVE! My question is, is there anything around there besides the bar? I can only do so much time at the bar...is it a good beach for laying out? Or if not, what would you recommend doing in the morning for an hour or two?

There is a large shopping area with shops and restaurants. There is obviously the beach where the planes come in but you will have to bring your own towel. It is located direct next to a hotel and timeshare. I have never seen chairs rented. Of course there is the sunset bar on the oposite side as well

For us a couple hours at Maho beach was enough. It's not a good beach for laying out. Large rocks are right on the edge...but it is nice for swimming. The outdoor bar is quaint. We ordered lunch, and enjoyed their local beer. It is awesome watching the planes come in. You need to be very careful when planes take off when walking past the beach, as you can get totally sandblasted. There are shops that were close but not right next to the bar. We are shoppers, and had no interest. It takes 20 minutes to half hour to get there. I think cab fare was around $30 each way.
