Leafpeeper Posted August 17, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2009 We are driving to Quebec and wondered if anyone could suggest a hotel with a great location for a great price.
urbanhawk Posted August 17, 2009 #2 Share Posted August 17, 2009 http://www.manoir-sur-le-cap.com I've never been to Quebec-going in Sept., and staying at this place, which looks charming, very reasonably priced, and it's inside the walled city....Happy travels! Jeff in Torrance Posted August 18, 2009 #3 Share Posted August 18, 2009 We spent several days a couple of "leaf seasons" ago on Ille d' Orleans, in two different B&B's. The people that we stayed with and the food were both wonderful; and, the price was typically right. There is a "Tourist Bureau" or, other similarly-titled office just as you get onto the island from the single bridge. They have listings of all of the inns or B&Bs on the island. Very scenic; and, only about 15 minutes outside of the old city of Quebec, in the middle of the St. Lawrence. You have great views of Montmorency Falls as you drive to the mainland from the island. http://www.bonjourquebec.com/qc-en/recherche/resultats.php?tri=&filtre=&categoryid=&num_page=6&ordreTri=

urbanhawk Posted August 19, 2009 #5 Share Posted August 19, 2009 Yes, Mary-let me know how it is; if it's as nice, as it seems on the website, tell Sandra that Steve from Tucson, AZ. made the recommendation!:D (And, if it doesn't live up to its expectations, DON'T tell her I made the recommendation! lol) Enoy your trip! (I'll be there on 9-12-09 after my Carnival cruise to Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick-I'm looking forward to some cooler weather-today was 105!:p)

(I'll be there on 9-12-09 after my Carnival cruise to Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick-I'm looking forward to some cooler weather-today was 105!:p) At least it was a dry heat. Boston hit 95 this week with high humidity. Fortunately, we live at the coast on Cape Cod Bay so our temps stayed in the 80's. I have a coworker whose relatives from Florida are visiting Nova Scotia this week--great timing for nice cool temps up there. I am hoping Hurricane Bill keeps heading away so we don't have a weekend of rain in Quebec--packing my pocket ponchos just in case. My grandmother was a Murphy so I always come prepared for Murphy's Law to intervene.

Hot is hot, but that humiity factor makes it really uncomfortable.I don't think I could ever live in a place like Florida. I hope Bill just dries up and blows away, so you'll have good weather for your trip, and others on their cruises won't be affected, and will be safe.
