bling19572010 Posted August 19, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 19, 2009 Does RCCL have any group discounts? My family of 15 will be cruising next December and we'd, of course, like to save as much as possible. Thanks.

relaxandenjoy Posted August 19, 2009 #3 Share Posted August 19, 2009 I believe it's one cabin free for every 8 or 10 cabins booked.

Do you think it would be worth it to find one more person to go in order to get 8 cabins with double occupancy?
PrincesScuba Posted August 19, 2009 #5 Share Posted August 19, 2009 I believe it's one cabin free for every 8 or 10 cabins booked. No, it's one cruisefare, less fees, taxes and port charges. And that cruisefare is the one most booked, i.e., if you booked one GS, two balconies, two oceanviews and three interiors, the rebated cruisefare is the interior fare. Lynnees Posted August 19, 2009 #6 Share Posted August 19, 2009 The fares are whatever is going at the time you book. To receive a "free" berth you must have 8 doubles booked which equates to 16 berths. Berth 16 is the free one but you do have to pay for taxes and port charges. Singles do not count and a third/fourth person in the cabin does not count towards your total. What you can look for is GAP points which entitled you to perks such as onboard credit. Not all cruises have GAP points though. If you are looking at relative close in most likely there won't be any GAP points left.

Sue L Posted August 20, 2009 #8 Share Posted August 20, 2009 Where do you look for GAP points? Our cruise isn't until Dec. 2010. Thanks. You have to call the cruise lines group dept or your TA to find the amount of GAP points on a particular sailing.

Have you actually booked anyone yet? If you have you need to call either your TA or RCL and book a group then move anyone you have previously booked into the group. If you are looking at Christmas 2010 you may have a difficult time getting GAP points but if you are talking early in December there may still be some available.
