Carnival Miracle-Any Secrets?

If I hadn't read about the fish n chips on the Valor (or Victory, or both...I can't remember now), I would have missed out on some good eats! Anyone have any must do/see suggestions for the Miracle?

Thanks!

I was just on Miracle in May

and I have been on 4 of carnival ship's

and Miracle is my favorite.

My reasons are

1. The theme for Miracle is Fiction.

So some rooms called Mad Hatters Ball, Frankenstein's Lab and Phatom Lounge

I guess I like it cause I can relate to it.

2. One big complaint I have over the Destiny and Liberty class ships is how the layout of the ship was designed. Like the aft dining room you have to go accross another deck then go down stairs. On Miracle that is not a problem at all. and I found that it was more easily to get around. Even the stores on the promenade were steps away from each other rather accross the atrium. Which I feel gave it more room. Gassby's Garden was another one of my favorites you walk inside around the bow of the ship. If you keep walking you see stairs, I felt like I was in Hogwarts or something.

3. Even the Phatom Lounge had some nice features

Before even walking into the theather you are looking at staris that take you upstairs or down stairs of the theather. Once inside the layout of the theather is a lot better then the other ships (like above the main floor) Diraly accross the stage on the 2nd floor of the theather there is seats that you can see the preformers

on the other ships I remember there being a couch but in front of you was the computer tech contols for all the lighting. They are gone on Miracle and you can see.

Even the seating arrgement was better. Like a Loge, Balcony and Grand Balcony.

Each section separated with a raling and staris on the side.

I just found Phantom Louge with lots of improved ideas that the other ships do not have (at least when I was aboard)

4. Up on Lido where all the food is served I Liked how the Asian and the deli were not on the side (port, star) (this is the case on conquest, destiny class ships)

when the lines get long it can be confusing to which line is which.

and the lines take over the hallways.

rather on Miracle they are right where the buffet(s) is out of the side and in a spot that looks like it should not be there.

any way I tried to say this excaly how I rembember it.

It may be hard to understand but this is still fresh for me I was just on her in May.

I hope this helps Miracle is my favorite ship (Liberty a close 2nd)

she just is a beatiful ship. Enjoy :)

Miracle does have a area where you can see the bow of the ship. It's on deck 9 either right coming outside and make a u turn or right outside the gym (same thing)

Great view but can get very windy. Helps if you sit down to stop the wind.

Phantom Lounge has some secrets if walk walk toward the stage up stairs though a door you will find the wizards arcade and one deck above that is Pinocchio's club.

one deck below wizards arcade is the Gatasby's Garden.

This is why I said this reminds me of Hogwarts all these hidden stair ways.

Tell me this is NOT Oct 7th!! There is good nekkid and bad nekkid...unfortunately, methinks the bad nekkid would out weigh the good nekkid!

No worries. From all I have heard all nude cruises are charters. I think that would be a surprise that people might very well complain about with validity, versus complaints about Renaissance fans or knitters or some other group who might be found on any mainstream sailing.

This is such fun info! Keep it coming :)

I had heard about the nude cruise, it's the week before mine ! I really hope the crew does some major surface disinfecting of ALL surfaces before the Nov 4th sailing boards! I mean, sure if you want to cruise nekkid go right ahead and book that private charter, but...I don't want to put my hands where someone else has been sitting/leaning with no clothes on, and I imagine that would be everywhere after a week with a ship full of nude people!!! And it should be interesting arriving at the port. DH and I always try to board as early as possible, and we don't mind waiting if the ship isn't ready....I hope everyone dons their clothing before disembarking.

I'm really happy to hear about the deli and asian bar in the buffet! I have never tried the asian bar on the last 4 cruises because of the placement and long lines. I'm certainly going to have to try it out this time.

Is there a sushi bar hiding anywhere? I remember on the paradise there was a sushi bar near the casino, and in the hall way on the way to the specialty coffee bar. YUM-O!

There's a sushi bar on the Promenade Deck, between the casino and the Phantom Lounge. (Found it on the deck plan.)

Is there a pool or area designated for adults only? Seems I read that somewhere, but maybe was dreaming. Thanks.

The aft pool area is designated Adults only. I'm just off the Miracle and it was mostly adults, I saw very few kids there. My daughter was recently on the Pride (in July) and she was so annoyed that kids were in the adults hot tub, she actually had kids snorkeling yes snorkeling in the hot tub as well as kids sitting on her lap. She was annoyed that the security guards did or said nothing about that situation. Again The Miracle aft pool was nice with just adults.

glory's asian was great. I ate there quite a few times. In the deli of course is the ruben sandwich a must have for me. I don't care about sushi. can't stand the smell of raw fish. however the speciality coffee bar, I love to get the hot chocolate from there. YUM.....

I read a posting a while back about something like this. The woman said there were kids in the adult hot tub and pool and security wasn't saying anything to the kids. So she went over to the bar, got a drink and went back into the pool. Security came over and told her she could be in the pool with a drink. She said well why you are here could you have the kids get out of the adult pool and hot tub. From what she said the security guard did run off the kids after that.

Maybe some of you can help me. We are planning on cruising on the Miracle in Feb 2010. I've always been on the Destiny size ships & on Splendor this year. Will I notice more rocking on this size ship? Are the cabins smaller? Is the middle of the boat the best place for a cabin? Thanks all!

Miracle Tip-

One of the biggest suggestions I have concerns the Miracle's Grand Turk, Half Moon Cay, and Nassau itinerary. Check the port schedules and try and book your cruise around a timed when The Miracle is the only ship in both Grand Turk and Half Moon Cay. In my opinion both places can only handle one average size ship at a time. Nassau can handle multiple ships.

The Miracle is THE BEST ship in Carnival's fleet (in my opinion, anyways!). I've been on her three times with the possibility of booking her again this year.

Something you MUST go and see is the band Music Unlimited. They are amazing! They play in Frankie and Johnny's most nights, just look in your Capers to see where and when they are performing. Make sure you request their version of Free Bird... the guitar solo is insane!!

The Beatles show, Ticket To Ride, is the best production show I have seen on a ship, especially the ending of it. Some people don't like the shows on the ship, but we are big fans and usually stay for both showings if it is good.

The Asian food on the Lido is OUT OF THIS WORLD! I tried it for the first time on my last cruise and couldn't believe I passed it up on our 6 other Carnival cruises.

The Aft pool is adults only and they definately enforce it. It is much more quiet than the main pool and less crowded, but the hot tub is prime real estate since there's only one back there.

Gatsby's Garden is kind of a hidden spot that's always been completely empty every time I've gone there. It's a nice place to read and watch the ocean.

If you guys are looking for other suggestions, my sister blogged about our last 2 vacations on the Miracle. It has a lot of pictures of the public spaces, food, etc.

Don't forget to get your free laynards (sp) in the casino. Highly recommend Nick & Nora's, best experience ever! Also, the best burgers on a cruise ship anywhere, they actually tasted like burgers with any kind of topping, not hockey pucks.
