Leaving tommorrow afternoon Last minute Tips?

Recommended Posts

We are leaving tomorrow afternoon for our first cruise. It is on the Sovereign of the Seas. I checked the weather and rain is likely. And tips on dealing with that? THose little disposable rain coat things or an umbrella?

Beth...just keep a positive attitude...you are on vacation...no mail, no work, no responsibilities...rain or not...you are going to have a great time.

On our Inspiration cruise...we had a great day planned at the beach...wwweeellll...it rained harder than I'd ever seen it rain...drops the size of dimes coming down...my husband and I decided to try to make it to the end of the pier...and hit the cute outdoor restaurant/bar (covered of course)...we had the best time sitting in our swings (this restaurant has swings and hammocks instead of chairs)...drinking our margaritas...laughing at the poor souls running back to the ship (heck they were laughing too). Not what we planned but...probably one of the most memorable moments we tell friends about. They may predict rain...but the weather may be beautiful. Give us a review when you get back. And a BIG yes on the rain ponchos. If you bring the umbrella/rain ponchos...then it won't rain...it is one of those things...you don't have them...and it will. We brought 8 on our last cruise...2 for each of us...and don't you know...1 1/2 weeks...didn't rain more than a quick drizzle!!!

It's true, bring a poncho and it won't rain I brought one on the Navigator last week and it didn't rain. They say it did rain in Cozumel, but I was inside Carlos & Charlies and missed the whole thing. It was great fun

Have a great time!

Have a great time and bring the panchos! They are the easiest and will leave your hands free.

Yes we are just driving over tomorrow. My in laws live in melbourne and we still have a rental home there. So we get to visit and then check to see what the tenant has broken now. And then Friday sail away and forget them all. :-)

Most likely, you will only have rain until you set sail. If you have days at sea, the captain will found out where it is NOT raining, and go there. That's the beauty of a cruise - it avoids bad weather, and you aren't stuck in one place for too long.

If you don't have an over-the-door shoe-holder, stop in Wal-Mart/Target/discount store to pick one up. It will save you time finding things you would normally keep in your bathroom, etc.

Bring address labels. Use them to give to new friends, and to speed up labelling your luggage when it's time to leave.

If you plan to shop, bring a folding suitcase you can put everything in.

Remember that you are on vacation, and that we wish we could fit in your luggage.

Counting down to the Rhapsody OTS - 12/05/04
