Italy52 Posted August 25, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 25, 2009 We will be arriving late into Vancouver so we decided to stay at the Hilton near the airport (I believe in Richmond). We can also use our points so there will be no cost to us. Hilton has a courtesy shuttle that can pick us up from the airport and drop us off at the hotel. We are trying to figure out if it would be more cost effective to take the shuttle back to the airport the next day and take a cab from airport to Ballantyne? Or, take cab from our hotel in Richmond to Ballantyne? Any thoughts?
ell52 Posted August 25, 2009 #2 Share Posted August 25, 2009 I doubt that there would be very much difference in price between a fare from the airport versus from your hotel. I'd just take a cab from the hotel.
Putterdude Posted August 25, 2009 #3 Share Posted August 25, 2009 You could take the hotels shuttle to the airport or to any new Canada Line Station and take the subway into Waterfront Station and then take a cab from there or Canada Place to Ballantyne pier. That will cost you $7.50 in transit fares and less than $10 in cab fare however that will mean a lot of handling of luggage. Your cab fare from the Hilton to Ballantyne will run you about $35 only you can decide if the savings are worth the trouble.:)
Italy52 Posted August 25, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted August 25, 2009 Thanks everyone for the input, I appreciate the feedback. We will be doing back-to-back cruises so we will have a little more luggage than normal -- sounds like a cab might be our better option.
PennyAgain Posted August 25, 2009 #5 Share Posted August 25, 2009 How many people in your party? That will make a difference if there are several in favor of a taxi.
Putterdude Posted August 25, 2009 #6 Share Posted August 25, 2009 That would be my first choice. :)

Putterdude Posted August 25, 2009 #8 Share Posted August 25, 2009 Two will fit in a cab nicely with lots of room for luggage. Most of Vancouver's cab fleets have been downsized to compacts that will only take 2 or 3 pax max with luggage.

Since we have disembarked in Vancouver a couple of times already we knew about the cabs and the luggage capabilities. Think it's great that they have gone "green." In talking to some of our cab drivers I know they appreciate the $$ savings. Thanks for the reminder though.
