Buying and bringing on canned beer

Correct me if I'm wrong-you can bring on cans of beer that you buy in the ports, just not bottles of beer or bottles of liquor, correct? I think I remember doing that on my last cruise when we stopped in Grand Cayman and no one gave me a problem.

Officially, no you can't. In reality, they may ignore it simply because otherwise, they would have to store it and return it the last day of the cruise. They are set up to do this with bottles of liquor, but cans of beer is another story.
