Cheapest way from FLL to HI-port of Miami?

Hi...

I found a fare I can live with:D and I know this has been asked and answered but bear with me.

 

We will be flying into FLL instead of MIA. What is the cheapest way for my family of 5 to get from the airport to the Holiday Inn? And then from the port back to FLL?

Probably one-way rental car both ways - obviously you'll want a big one, minivan or such. Shuttles are available, but bleh.

Look up the airport website - then find the button for ground transportation, you will see many choices from public transit to limosines.

Two weeks ago, I rented a car from FFL via alamo to a hotel near MIA. The next day, dropped car off and took shuttle to port. The nice part? It was $50 with tax and they gave me a free upgrade mid size car to suv (Chevy Trail Blazer). Bad part? I had to wait an hour in line to get the car. They seemed disorganized, with several people getting the wrongs cars for their paperwork.

I went curbside and asked (there were four of us), taxi van said $50, share ride airport van $17pp and Tricounty transportation share ride $20pp. We also went to the Holiday Inn. For the way back we had a reservation for a town car from Tricounty, but if I were to do it again I would just grab one of the gazillion cabs (minivan) that are there waiting.
