Alexis Posted October 29, 2009 #26 Share Posted October 29, 2009 Just curious . . . how many ones, fives, tens and twentys do ya all take on a cruise? We only take enough to get us to our plane and hotel for tips. From there when we need them we cash $20.00's. Once on board the ships we get them at the pursers. We take Travelers Checks mostly. Much safer than cash.

GSD4ME Posted October 29, 2009 #28 Share Posted October 29, 2009 I can definitively tell you, from my own experience, that there is NO service charge to upload $$$ to a slot or video poker maching using your onboard account. You upload the money onto your cruise ship account card (which charges your on-board account), take it to the casino teller window....and tell them you want to "cash out". You will be given cash for whatever credit is on the card. However, if you sit at a table game in the casino and tell the dealer you want cash from your card, there is a 3% service charge. Don't know why anyone would do that rather than uploading their cash to a slot or poker maching using their onboard account. All the charges in the casino will appear on your final on-board account billing but your credit card won't be charged until the last day of your cruise.
