auntym Posted August 30, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 30, 2009 Can anyone tell me if you can purchase cigarettes cigars on board?
haggis Posted August 30, 2009 #2 Share Posted August 30, 2009 Yes, all are readily available through your room steward. You may also buy your favourite tipple in this way. Allow 24 hours though. Jimmy
Pontius Navigator Posted August 30, 2009 #3 Share Posted August 30, 2009 They have 2 prices. An onboard price and a goes home price. The sold Bombay Saphire Gin at £12.70 and a goezome price of £10.50. Now that was available 3 days before we got home and before we arrived at Gibraltar. It is conceivable they were trying to match the onshore prices.

may1956 Posted August 30, 2009 #5 Share Posted August 30, 2009 Cigarettes were available to buy in packs of 20 for £2.55 when we were on board in May. You could not buy in 200 packs though, don't know why.
Pontius Navigator Posted August 31, 2009 #6 Share Posted August 31, 2009 Packs of 200 were available for gozome buying. Clearly duty-free cigarettes were available without restriction in Gibraltar. The restriction came at Southampton were every single baggage desk in the Green channel was occupied and mountains of cigarettes were being stacked up. Now I wonder how they picked the smugglers so easily? Was the luggage scanned as it was off-loaded? Was it then marked so they could spot it as it went through the green channel?
