jackdis Posted August 31, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 31, 2009 Thank you for all the info. you have provided! I love the cruise critic boards and once again, I have spent way too much time on here for our upcoming cruise. Just a few last questions: 1. Is there a newlywed game? 2. Anything similar to RCCL's Quest? 3. Lifejackets worn for muster drill? 4. What's the earliest people have been let on the ship in NYC? 5. Wine tasting? Anything similar - like martini tasting or beer tasting? (I saw that on a tv show. Can't remember which cruise line?) 6. Sushi - where? when? Any other last minute tips/tibdits to offer? Thank you again for all your help, reviews, postings, etc!!!

david08 Posted August 31, 2009 #5 Share Posted August 31, 2009 Thank you for all the info. you have provided! I love the cruise critic boards and once again, I have spent way too much time on here for our upcoming cruise. Just a few last questions: 1. Is there a newlywed game? Marriage show is somewhat similar...and always involves a newlywed couple. 2. Anything similar to RCCL's Quest? No clue what that is 3. Lifejackets worn for muster drill? Yes and no....my first 4 cruises they made us wear it the whole time. My last 3, we had to put them on real quick to "secure them" then were allowed to take them off during announcements. Just yell "Hey you, in the orange" it will go by much faster! 4. What's the earliest people have been let on the ship in NYC? I've been on by 11:45am 5. Wine tasting? Anything similar - like martini tasting or beer tasting? (I saw that on a tv show. Can't remember which cruise line?) They have done this, free champagne in Art Auction and always do a martini night 6. Sushi - where? when? Cart is usually along the Promendade Walk (near casino) times varies, but usually 5-7pm, check your capers I was on the Triumph in January...don't even remember the CD at all, which isn't a good thing! I know it has definitly changed Any other last minute tips/tibdits to offer? Thank you again for all your help, reviews, postings, etc!!! My answers in red! rednose83 Posted September 1, 2009 #11 Share Posted September 1, 2009 I got off the Freedom last week and they played Quest onboard. It was almost identical to RCCL's.
Shipshape7 Posted September 1, 2009 #12 Share Posted September 1, 2009 1. Sushi - where? when? 1. Yes. 2. No. 3. We carried them to and from the drill but were asked to put them on only very briefly. 4. We boarded about 11:30 and there were plenty of people onboard already. 5. There was a martini tasting I believe. I think it was sampling 5 different types for $15? I didn't go but remember seeing it in the Capers. 6. Sushi - by one end of the Casino bar at about 5 PM most nights 7. CD was Jorge and we thought he was a riot. 8. We had booked the St. Martins shore excursion and then canceled it ony because we happened to be in Saint John on Canada Day so there would be enough to do. Would definitely advise you take an excursion as Saint John is not terribly interesting. Aquilla is the tour operator Carnival uses. I contacted them directly to make sure they time the excursion so that the sea caves are accessible. They assured me that they do. Have a great time.
