MSC Opera - dining options in evening

Hi

Having read a few of the existing threads I am a bit confused about the options for dining in the evening.

We were under the impression that late dining would be about 8pm but am slightly horrified to find that it is likely to be 9:15pm now and that is just too late for me.....is there a more informal dining option in the evening such as a buffet open?

We don't particularly like a full 3 course meal every evening and on cruises tend to mix it up with a few nights eating in the buffet.

Also, can anyone advise what tends to be available in the afternoons in terms of food - do they do a sort of afternoon tea? (in case we have to wait until 9:15pm!!)

Finally, do we HAVE to attend all the formal nights? We are on an 11 night cruise and 3 seems excessive - ideally we'd only go to one and then eat elsewhere for the other 2?

We sail in 2 weeks and am panicking I don't have enough dresses for 3 formal nights!!

Hi Willow,

please don´t panic about formal nights! I´m sure you´ll be fine with your one dress - just take along a couple of nice scarves to ring the changes! I´m certain nobody on the ship - apart from yourself - is likely to worry about what you are wearing, as long as you are smart. Many of us have a luggage restriction of 15 kilos on our flights, so I guess there will be many people wearing "repeats"! No worries!!!

I have no experience of MSC myself, but I´m certain some of the MSC board stalwarts like AmoMondo (she is worth her weight in gold!) will be on very soon to assuage your fears and give you more exact information on the late seating. We shall be on the cruise after yours - also late sitting. It´s definitely the better option if you have been on shore and get back quite late.

Keep smiling, and have a great cruise!!!!:)
