Dinner Cruises (the views are spectacular, the food - eh, it's edible)...

Navatek... http://www.atlantisadventures.com/hawaii/oahu/oahu-cruises.cfm

I should also add, since you're going to be on Oahu for a week do rent a car and get out of Honolulu and Waikiki. Take a drive around the island, go to the North Shore and Haleiwa. It's a whole other world from the city... http://www.gonorthshore.org/

Trent, thanks so much! I know those cruises can be a real crap shoot and I've also read (on these boards) about some of the parasail operations that aren't so great. I really appreciate the suggestions.

Yes, we've got our jeep reserved for our drive around the island. The link you provided is great and will be very helpful. Thanks again!

Aloha,

You might want to do something that I think TrentS and I both have endorsed before...just do a cocktail cruise (not the whole dinner thing), then go have a nice dinner on land. Or, skip the cruise and go hang at the House Without a Key for drinks, sunset, Hula... and anything from appetizers to a full meal.

I'd save my money for either a snorkel trip in Maui (not to Molokini though), or a sunset cocktail cruise here as well. Much less crowded, very nice trips.

Since we are doing a land vacation this time, I do want to take a sunset cruise. A cocktail-only cruise is a great idea - thanks!

This will be our last trip to Oahu and then next Hawaiian vacation will be to Maui. Will save your do-not-snorkel-in-Molokini tip for that trip! Mahalo!

Well, we are back :( and I just wanted to say thanks for the recommendations. The crew for xtremeparasail was just great and we had a blast. There was a 6'4" fellow on the boat with us who was scared to death but his wife made him go. It was so funny - this big guy all nervous but of course he loved it. We saw them at Duke's a couple times after that - oh look there's scaredy cat!

We chose the Navatek for the dinner cruise and believe it or not, while I know food is very subjective, the meal was quite good and there was plenty of it. We opted to upgrade to a window seat and we had a table for two at the end and it was quite cozy & romantic. The entertainment was fun and they had a special recognition for newlyweds and couples celebrating anniversaries - only one couple had us beat (by 10 years).

So, mahalo, Trent. You helped to make a special trip even more special! Aloha!
