catz821 Posted February 16, 2010 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2010 What is on the room service breakfast menu for CC rooms? Thanks!
kitkat9438 Posted February 16, 2010 #2 Share Posted February 16, 2010 You will love it! We had a CC class in December and had breakfast room service day after the first one. You will fill out your room service order form and leave it on the door the night before and select a 30 minute window for delivery. They will call you right before it is delivered. So nice to eat out on the balcony and not have to fight the crowds. One piece of advice is try to be real specific on what you want, like eggs for two people, etc. Concierge class menu: Concierge Class Signature Dishes ___Granola Berry Parfait ___French Toast Finger with Marmalade Butter ___Baked Bananas ___Scrambled Eggs with Fresh Asparagus Spears ___Sunrise Fritata ___Russian Sevruga Caviar (30 gr. Dharma517 Posted February 16, 2010 #3 Share Posted February 16, 2010 I am considering giving up my CC3 cabin for an AFT FV. Is it possible to still get the CC breakfast menu from your steward with a little coaxing? :D Jenn
KLStacker Posted February 16, 2010 #4 Share Posted February 16, 2010 Can you try writing in items, like eggs benedict?
Rysyonok Posted February 16, 2010 #5 Share Posted February 16, 2010 What about non-CC menu? :)
Lsimon Posted February 16, 2010 #6 Share Posted February 16, 2010 I don't recall the non-cc menu exactly, but you should have no problem getting basic items like eggs, danish, bagels, toast, etc. If you look at the CC breakfast menu above you should be able to order any item except for those under the first two categories labeled Concierge Class. Generally you can get any item on the main dining room menu during the hours the dining room is serving. That would mean that you should be able to get items like eggs benedict during the dining room breakfast hours. If you're in doubt then talk to your cabin attendant beforehand or call room service - I always say you'd be surprised what you can get if you ask for it. The only time I've been disappointed with room service breakfast is when we've wanted it the most! That is when we have to get up for an early excursion. I guess the stewards and servers just get a bit overwhelmed those mornings and sometimes the orders get a little confused and/or the eggs are a little cold some of those mornings. They've also just left out special order items written in on some of those mornings. I'm guessing that the standard items are available in a quick line but the other items take longer to collect. One of the worst times was on our Mediterranean cruise the mornings of the big Italian cities (Rome, Florence & Naples) since just about everyone on the ship is getting ready to get off by 7AM. We've learned to keep our request for early/busy mornings simple.

I guess it depends - on our Med cruise our butler was wonderful, and we had breakfast daily at 6 even though it was not officially available until 6:30... :)

The one time we were in a Sky Suite the room service breakfasts were way better than we've generally gotten with delivery by the cabin attendants or room service staff. And of course that butler will do all he can to get fulfill whatever requests you have. For questions like the eggs benedict question: If you have a suite with a butler it isn't even a question - but even then it helps to talk to them face to face about such requests the day before rather than just write it on the card. citygirl Posted February 17, 2010 #9 Share Posted February 17, 2010 is room service free?
travelingmom37 Posted February 17, 2010 #10 Share Posted February 17, 2010 Yes, room service is included in the price of your cruise. Do tip the attendants a few dollars each time. These folks are often not your regular cabin steward and this is extra duty. :D Enjoy every moment of room service.
Lsimon Posted February 17, 2010 #11 Share Posted February 17, 2010 is room service free? There is no extra charge for room service except for the things they charge for elsewhere such as soda pop, beer, wine, espresso, etc. They do charge for some extravagant items such as caviar and maybe a few other things. But no charge for regular breakfast items, snacks, or lunch or dinner, etc. For example if you get back from an excursion and want a snack order a cheese plate and some iced tea - no extra charge. Don't feel like going out for dinner - order a sandwich and a coke - pay for only the cola soda pop. Need something hot to drink - order a pot of coffee or some hot tea and pastries - no charge. Most people will tip the server or if your regular room stewards deliver they will consider it in any incremental tip they might give at the end of the cruise. Here is a link to a room service menu - be sure to read the paragraph at the top. You can ask for other things and they will do them if they can. By the way - nothing is "free" on a cruise it is either included as part of the cruise fare or not.

kitkat9438 Posted February 17, 2010 #13 Share Posted February 17, 2010 I also forgot to mention you can write in something that is not on the menu and they will get it for you, like their famous waffles. I had never tried them and ordered them. It was very nice.
