We are thinking about booking this next year with Windstar. For anyone who did the cruise this past year, what is your review? I know the ports are different - or at least some of them. I am a little disappointed that they are not offering the Flam Railway next year.

My husband and I did the Lands of the Midnight Sun in August from Reykjavik to Copenhagen. It was a most amazing itinerary. Iceland is another planet, breathtaking in its starkness and uniqueness. Plan to spend a couple of days there. The Faroe Islands and the Shetland Islands were ruggedly beautiful. Great seabirds and seals and sod-roofed houses. The fjords were gorgeous with a hundred shades of green and lots of waterfalls everywhere. Copenhagen is a delightful city. The locals in every place we stopped were very friendly and spoke English so well. You will have a fantastic time. Too bad you'll miss the Flam Railway since it was one of the highlights of the trip.

My wife and I have booked the the 2016 Dublin-Reykjavik trip. The 2016 version has "lost" Copenhagen, Flam, and Lerwick (Shetland Islands), replaced by Dublin, Molde, and Kirkwall.

We are not too concerned, we think the replacements stops are just as interesting (and are also hoping that Windstar has ironed out some of the kinks from its new-ship offerings). Very much looking forward to spending a couple of days in Dublin beforehand, Kirkwall looks interesting, and whilst we are sad we won't be doing the Flam railway, it has been replaced by the plan to drive this from Molde to Kristiansund (and back):

We were on the cruise and the ports themselves were very good. One thing to be aware of is that the ship's internet will not connect much of the time because you will be in the fjords and the spacecraft signal is blocked by the mountains.

As for a full review, if you look at the Legend reviews you will see a couple reviews of this cruise. I do hope that Windstar solves some of its staffing and quality problems before your cruise.
