happy cruzin Posted March 1, 2005 #1 Share Posted March 1, 2005 Has anyone used the "VIP Privileges" as a past guest from Carnival on any of the sister lines? We have done 3 Carnival cruises - Pride (Eastern Carribean), Glory (Western Carribean) and Destiny(Southern Carribean). DH and I love to cruise but we think that the Carnival experience is becoming somewhat predictable. For example the ship layouts are almost identical and the dining room menu's have been absolutely identical. So...we are beginning to look a some different cruise lines and wonder if these VIP Privileges get you anything at all. Any and all suggestions or insights welcome. Thanks!! :D
kitty9 Posted March 1, 2005 #2 Share Posted March 1, 2005 I was a multiple time cruiser on Seabourn, which is a part of Carnival, and when I booked the Destiny, nothing transfered over from the other cruise line. I know that with Royal Caribbean, nothing from their club transfers to Celebrity, which is also owned by RCCI.
serene56 Posted March 1, 2005 #3 Share Posted March 1, 2005 Even though Carnival owns Princess it is still a seperate cruiseline and treated that way. Which is good coz I would hate to cruise on Princess and get the same menu that I had on Carnival.
takeabreath3 Posted March 2, 2005 #4 Share Posted March 2, 2005 i am thinking that RCI and Celebrity are now interchanging their club privies..but as far as carnival goes i have not seen anything that says they are swaping out!!! judy
bluehorizonlover123 Posted March 2, 2005 #5 Share Posted March 2, 2005 I've been on 4 Carnivals, 2 Princesses and 2 NCLS and none of the lines will let your interchange your past guest priveleges with another. Carnival will stick with Carnival and Princess will stick with Princess. Now of them interchange. Sorry
kc320 Posted March 3, 2005 #6 Share Posted March 3, 2005 That's strange cause we sailed HAL a few years ago which is also owned by Carnival & we received a welcome back tile & an invite to the return cruiser's party. We didn't receive any Mariner discounts prior to sailing but we did receive the onboard perks. RCL & Celebrity are the same way now, RCL Platinum & Diamond members receive the same level onboard perks on Celebrity. But cruises on each line only count for that lines loyalty program.
