Cruise Directors

I noted that Ashley Bolton Burrows is no longer on the list of Fred. Olsen Cruise Directors. Has he now left the company?

There seems to have been a big clear out of cruise directors and captains too. It's interesting that, unlike in the past, few of the captains are not Norwegian or Scandinavian even.

Good to see there have also been some promotions as well though.

Some well deserved recognition for some very hard working people like Jackie Probert (now Probert Isagre after getting married).

Also Elliott Taylor moving up to Assistant Cruise Director.

There is always going to be turn-over in these roles, but good to see that it is often existing staff moving up through the ranks that get the opportunity to shine.

Does anyone know the Captain and Cruise director on board the "Balmoral" on the second sector of its world cruise from Dubai?

She was also CD on the South American cruise after Christmas. I agree, she did work very hard and her efforts were much appreciated.

I know I have quoted something from a few months ago, but we were on Braemar in Nov/Dec 2014 and there was a German captain. We also got very friendly with a german pasenger who had been told by the captain that there was only one, (or perhaps it was even none - not sure), Norwegian Captains left. The reason he gave for that was that the company does not pay enough for Norwegian staff nowadays.

Sounds logical to me given the extremely high cost of living in Norway.
