terrierjohn Posted August 12, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 12, 2017 We are considering hiring a scooter for my wife on our upcoming RCI cruise from Mobility at sea, they recommend their Stowaway LX (similar to Pride Go Go Elite) for her height and weight. Has anyone any experience using one of these ashore, is it stable, how does it cope with kerbs, does the battery last all day, and what sort of inclines can it handle? The Stowaway LX is the same as the Pride GoGo Sport. Both are portable travel scooters and are not as stable as a full-size or a bariatric size scooter. The four wheel model is more stable than the 3 wheel model. The four wheel model is more awkward to maneuver on the ship as it requires a wider turning radius. Where as the 3 wheel model has a tighter turning radius. Both will not go over curbs as there is not enough under clearance. You have to try to locate curb cut outs. How long the battery lasts depends on several variables such as weight of end user, if you started out with a fully charged battery, terrain and incline. Max incline rating is 6 degrees
