Embarkation question - separate boarding times for same stateroom

My minor child is booked in the same stateroom as my parents for a cruise leaving out of Miami. If we arrive at the port (with my child) before my parents, will MSC allow my child to board with us?

No because he is on there reservation.

My original title wasn't quite right. It should have been something like - different staterooms, same boarding time, or boarding without everyone in the room present.

I asked my travel agent this question and was told that there would be no problem with arriving and boarding at separate times. I called MSC and was was told the same thing. I know this is true with other cruise lines too.

I'm going with the assumption that my child can check-in and board separately with us. If something different happens when we attempt this, I'll report back.

Just back from our cruise on the Divina and thought I would follow up. We were able to board separately from my parents without any issues. We had a copy of the e-ticket and received the room key for the child booked in my parents' room along with our room keys. My parents boarded a few hours after we did.
