Can any one help

3 of us on ventura 2 from Wales and 1 from West Yorkshire

My friend from West Yorkshire arrives in Southampton a couple of hours after us. Will we be able to book in before her and go to our cabin or will we have to wait until she arrives and book in together:)

The answer to your question depends on several factors, primarily whether or not you are all sharing the same cabin and whether you have separate bookings or one booking. Assuming that you are separate, the next question is whether or not you have received your check in times yet (via your e-ticket on your Cruise Personaliser). If not (if your cruise is some time away), then phone P&O and ask for yours and your friends bookings to be 'linked'. They will give you a code. Your friends then have to phone them and provide them with the code. You are likely to then be given the same check-in time but, more importantly, the same dining arrangement (same sitting and table for dinner if you are on Club Dining, or same restaurant if you are on Freedom Dining - some ships have more than one restaurant for each type of dining).

If you are under separate bookings and in separate cabins, regardless of whether or not you have 'linked' your bookings (for the reasons given above), you are under no obligation to check in together, so you can each do your own thing and meet up on board. Because you are still in Southampton, mobile phone coverage is fine on board so getting hold of people and meeting up is dead easy.

Hope that helps but feel free to provide more info if you want more specific advice for your circumstances.

You can check in at Southampton without waiting for remaining member(s) of your party to arrive. This is not a problem but tell your friend this is what you are doing, they may even arrive before you but it does not matter who books in first independently. It is polite not to unpack if you share the same cabin.

Thanks for your answers

We are in the same cabin but 2 are arriving early the other one is arriving separately later as she has a lot further to travel from home

As far as I'm aware, there would be no need for you to wait for your friend before checking in, unless you wished all 3 of your on board accounts to be charged to the same credit or debit card, but even then the last person could present a card and then you could go to reception on board and change it later.

Of course, if you arrive a long time before your allocated check-in time, you may still be waiting to check-in when your friend arrives!

I always find P&O to be very accommodating about varying circumstances, so I'm sure you won't have any issues. Have a lovely cruise.
