Planning an eastern med. cruise for next year, opinions on best time to travel. We are thinking May to avoid summer heat, but we like to enjoy pool on sea days, and beach while in port. Is this a good time or is it still to cool to swim?

Thanks

A good place to get an idea of what temperature to expect is Weather Underground. When a location is found/selected there is an option to look at the weather history'

For instance May 2016 at Santorini shows an average max temp of 24 C (75F). i would select the ports of call and look at each to gain some idea.

We used to go on a land holiday to Crete every year and went in the first 2 weeks in June which was very pleasant. They reckoned that it never rained in Crete after about 20th May so my advice would be late May or early June

We used to go to the Greek islands every year in late May and September. In late May the weather is very warm, however, the sea and swimming pools were very cold. So good if don't want to swim on your beach trips. September is still quite hot, but the sea and swimming pools are lovely. Enjoy whatever you decide.
