What things are their to do in Mumbai when arriving via cruise ship and you don't have a lot of time.

I would like to know if anyone has looked at tours in Mumbai, in particular the Kanheri Caves, Elephanta Caves or Karla and Bhaja Caves?

The ship I am on docks at 7:00 am and departs at 6:00 pm, that is a whole 11 hours. However, what I gather is that most tours don't pickup until 9:00 am and I would like to be back on the ship by at least 5:00 pm just in case there is a delay.

If anyone has visited the caves, which ones would you recommend?

Welcome to Cruise Critic.

Places I would post are the Asia ports of call board

And your roll call to see what others are doing.

I have been to Mumbia a few different times.

You are wise to not plan anything before 9:00 AM.

Aim to be back to the port by 4:30 PM not 5:00 PM.

Traffic in Mumbai can be horrible.

The only ones I have visited are the Elephanta Caves, and I seem to remember some steps to get up to them. But this was back in 1985, so my memories could be a bit hazy... I found them interesting. EM
