mafig Posted July 22, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 22, 2016 I've been looking at various videos of the Yacht Club. I enjoy wine with dinner. However, dh is not a big wine drinker. He prefers a cocktail. All of the videos I've seen are of people drinking wine. Can he order a cocktail before dinner in Le Muse?

AVACTION Posted July 26, 2016 #4 Share Posted July 26, 2016 Cocktails vs. Mixed Drinks. Being from the UK originally and now in Australia I get confused sometimes with the use of American English. Is a "cocktail" in US English the same as "mixed drink" in English. We would call a bourbon and cola, gin & tonic, etc. a mixed drink. Whereas if there is more than one spirit used with various other ingredients that is the a cocktail. Clarification please .......
Mimimama2004 Posted July 26, 2016 #5 Share Posted July 26, 2016 A cocktail in the USA is typically an alcoholic drink consisting of a spirit or several spirits mixed with other ingredients, such as fruit juice, lemonade, or cream. Favorites in the USA would be Cosmos, Martini, Gin and Tonic, Manhattan etc.
boca7 Posted August 8, 2016 #6 Share Posted August 8, 2016 You are limited to certain brands, the best vodka which I drink straight is a mid level quality is Absolute, you can specify but I realized the bartender kept trying to substitute Smirnoff, a lower quality vodka which I wont drink. Best bloody Mary is served at the pool bar.
stealthy Posted August 8, 2016 #7 Share Posted August 8, 2016 My interpretation is.... A cocktail has a umbrella or something hanging out the top of a glass like fruit or a curly straw ect. If it's served in a coconut, or glass that has flashing lights in it then its definitely a cocktail [emoji849]
