Has anyone gone Jet skiing at Castaway Cay?

Hi everyone,

Getting ready for our Dream Cruise this September and reserved a double jet ski for my 8 year old daughter and me! Would love to hear about your experiences :) Also, planning to have a water proof camera with me, any opportunities for some good shots? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Yes I have been twice. I was solo. But you could do the dual rider for the two of you. There isn't a whole lot to take pics off but they do stop on a nearby island for 15 mins or so. Other than that it's pretty much full speed following the leader around. It's great fun though.

Thanks, hoping I can maybe take a pic of the ship ? My 8 year old is a daredevil but I am a chicken and will be driving..do I have to go terribly fast?

It's "follow the leader"....if you go fast, you'll have to stop for the slowpokes to catch up. If you go slow, the rest will have to wait for you!

We did this one when our DD was about 10. She was on a double with me and Dad had his own. We had never been on jet skis before so for us it felt very fast and hard to keep up. In all honesty it was "scary" to me because I was so afraid she wouldn't be able to hold on to me well enough. I was really terrified that she would fall off while I was flying to keep up with the rest of the group.

Bottom line - don't feel pressured to keep up with the speed demons. Enjoy yourself and your time with your child. My daughter still thinks it was great fun!

Thank you so much for your honest feedback. I have jet skied before on a single (not crazy about the speed) but we have also gone tubing in lakes and DD has gone by herself and held on just fine (I'm on the boat flinching the whole time:eek:) I am perfectly OK being the slow poke in the group lol Thanks again :)
