Vanilla!!!

There hasn't been any updates to info on Vanilla here in a couple of years, so hope I can get recent info.

We are stopping at several islands.

A couple of tours include vanilla plantations, but I'm sure that is the most expensive place to buy.

I am thinking of vanilla extract to bring home to a few friends/family, but may buy some beans and make my own as well.

Would appreciate any info from people who have purchased recently.

The best prices I found for whole sealed beans were on Huahine at a vanilla plantation. Might also find them in Papeete at the market but I didn't buy there, I think I only saw liquid extract there. m--

We found that the prices did not vary all that much. The market in Tahiti has the liquid, the powder and the bean.

The vanilla farm on MOOREA is pretty good too.
