Just got back from an amazing week on board the Star - full review to follow shortly, but its been a fabulous holiday, visiting the most beautiful ports and all the staff were brilliant

Hi welcome back... I have a question about the ship NCL customer service can't seem to answer...regarding the non smoking side of the ship on the promenade deck...(is is port or starboard and where)I'll be in a balcony cabin for a fall cruise on the NCL Star and would like to avoid second hand smoke that may come from being above the promenade deck...

Did you happen to notice where the allowed smoking areas were?

Starboard or portside? and other places...

Thanks a bunch!

The smoking areas were on deck 12 on the port side to the side of the pool and also on the port side of the Bier Gartan. You could also smoke on deck 7 port side outside the 5 o'clock somewhere bar and at various other points down the promenade deck. I believe smoking was allowed in the casino too

Been on the star a few months ago (second time on her) indeed its on the side of 5 o'clock they have 3 tables there for smokers. Now the natural wind and the number of smokers (very small) along that side of the ship will not make it a issue. Walked there for probably 20+ days (doing my rounds around the ship) and never noticed more than 3 or 4 people in total. The same with the near the pool, more smokers but always some wind so even if you walk by its not a problem. The only area that is a problem but can be avoided is the casino.

You can eat on deck all around the pool either from the buffet or from the cooking area actually outside, where they did great burgers etc. I didnt go to the casino, but I know an American friend that we met won $30 on a penny machine. The shows were really good, I'll go into more detail in my report, but there was a contortionist that was on with the magician that really made you think you'd drunk too much!! The broadway style shows were excellent quality.

Thank you...Scatterbrain42 kevg1889...

Ill be on the starboard side...so knowing the smoking locations help me...I have an aversion to cigarette smoke and like to avoid it as much as I reasonably can...been on balcony cabins where I could still smell the smoke when I've been on the smoking side..(in ports and en route) knowing what I can to do avoid it is super helpful..

best!

Unfortunately most ships do not seem to have those anymore. Is there such a place on Star

I hope they fixed all the booboos on board ...i would hate to have a problem with azipods mid atlantic ..now that would not be funny ...drifting away in the blue sea of Nov ...

Is there an outdoor eating area from the buffet on that deck ?

If you went to the casino whichpenny machines were around ?

Tell us more about the shows ...

The outdoor eating area is round the pool, there isn't an aft area like the Jewel ships or spirit.
