Comped Cruises (Free Cruises)?

We just got back and my husband had a bounce back offer. I have called and there are dates in June and August available when I call my PVP. But I can't see this offer online. Why would it not show up online so I can search for my cruises myself?

When you say you just got back, how recently? I've found that my bounceback offers can take a couple days to show up under the VIFP offers on the website.

Also, have you tried searching cruises on Carnival? Sometimes you'll see the rates applied even if the offer isn't showing on the "My Offers" page yet.

We got it in April 17th. Says it has to be booked between April 19 and may 1

Huh - that is weird. Usually it's just a couple days at the most. Sometimes it's instant.

Did you try a mock-booking to see if the offer comes up?

Either way, hope you can use it :)

I have been offered a free cruise several times the first time I upgraded to a balcony room for 70 bucks pp. The next time I upgraded to a grand suite for 150 per person. I guess it just depends on availability on the specific cruise. I loved to get comped. I guess cause I play a lot in the casino. The only thing is, is that my old lady gets mad that I don't spend enough time with her. I cant win!

Yes I tried booking the dates online and it's not available. I can book through PVP but wanted to search myself instead of having to call each time to get him to check dates. I have always been able to see it online in the past.

Going on my second bounce back as a solo. I looked up my cruise and selected (1st time 9 days 2nd time 8 days) the choices online under my VIFP number. Then I called my TA to give her the info. I didn't have any problems even though I didn't decide until the last hour of the offer. There was only one inside left but that's what I wanted

I did want to clarify though- do you get a DOU card when you are on the bounce back cruise? I didn't get that on my first one in 2014. My second one is in July and I was considering Cheers so I wanted to find out.

Thanks everyone for your knowledge

Yes the DOU is only applicable in the casino. Also you said something about calling back to a different person which leads me to believe you were just calling the 800 number and not a PVP. A PVP is assigned to you and is the same person for each call. You'll have their specific extension and speak to that same person all the time. A PVP is great to have if you have a good one because they get to know you and it's easier to deal with than a different person each time. If you want a PVP Carnival will assign one to you. I have a great one but CC doesn't let us make recommendations here. You might want to consider that for future cruises. JMHO

Thank you for the PVP info.

How does this work? Do you just call Carnival and ask for one?

We have a cruise booked this June which we arranged ourselves. Should we request a PVP and if so, why?

I have alot of questions, I know....

My last 2 cruises were casino offers and just booked a free October cruise this morning. A PVP is a must as they will help identify the best deal/room and fix any issues for you. Mine normally calls about once every other month with some offer. This casino offer had about 12 cruises to choose from, made the call and 10 minutes later and $192.00 were booked and pre paids done. The $200.00 in free casino cash is always nice and I have not donated to the casino nor have I won a huge amount... all points based

Bounce Back offers are from the Ship Casino. Usually sent out in the early morning hours before debarkcation. I believe if you spent a good amount of time in the casino. Sort of like a bounce back from your losses . Lol. ;p

You're so right. Probably gambled $1000+ so they figured. ... What the heck😀

Book quick! Offer we received under our door the night before our debarkation on 04/02 was to be valid 04/04-04/14...to cruise by 09/29/17. We called 04/03 and were told to call back 04/04, which I did (and emailed PVP) and learned on 04/04 thru expiration date, and repeatedly, there were no cruises that fit our offer...not one single one. Offer was for $200 PER ROOM for less than 6 nights, and $400 PER ROOM for 7+ nights. We were told they quit doing these yet when I sent pic our PVP got a reply from higher ups that none were available. Six cruises in 3 1/2 years, with intention of 2 more this year (not comped in any way) ... this may have ended my loyalty.

I have an older friend that I've booked her comped ones for her and her guest several times without an issue. Dates were always available so she could travel when i was taking my crew, and Icould keep an eye in her. I'm just noticing changes are happening with casino.

Good luck!

So if they hadn't slipped that piece of paper under your door would you still be considering ending your loyalty?

3 out of my last 4 cruises have been "free" (~$200 port/tax for 7-days).

We just got off Splendor a few weeks ago after receiving that "happy little paper" in our mailbox the night before. I went online the next day and there were plenty to choose from, but the next day the one we really wanted had been snapped up. But it turned out ok - we grabbed an upgrade/upsell - I was monkeying around with the options on the website and snatched a Grand Suite out of Baltimore (no flight :-) for $300 each, which retails at $4,850! I did lose $450 in the casino, but I count this as a win! I typically spend two to four hours in the casino, most nights. I'll usually skip a night to do activities with my kid.

I love Carnival. Now if they'd just improve the food and put the tablecloths back.

Hey, that sounds like a win to me! Enjoy your Grand Suite! :)

It can not be passed on to another cruiser. The one who gets the offer MUST sail on the cruise or the others will be charged full price.

Another stipulation is that if for some reason you have to cancel and not go on the Free Booked cruise, like at the last minute (sickness or any reason), Carnival will charge you the full fair of the cruise. For this reason, I always buy the insurance through Carnival. For an extra $100 or so, it is worth it to me incase something goes wrong. The last cruise I just got off was a free BB offer. Total cost of port fees & taxes was $186, so I added the insurance for $49 /pp. Was still a cheap 7 day cruise @ $286.

Why in the world would you buy insurance? If you canncel for any reason you get back port fees and taxes and that is all you paid! Even if you prepaid gratuities you get those back as well, I know as I have done it..

They told me when I booked mine that if you cancel you are responsible for the full price the cruise would have been. So I also bought insurance
