Msc musica Dubai

Unfortunately on non US sailings, roll calls are rarely very active. It seems the vast majority cruising outside the US haven't heard of CC. The majority aren't English speakers anyway (or at least not as a first language).

Dubai is great as are Muscat and Abu Dhabi. Enjoy your cruise!

Interesting review.

I am off to Gulf in Jan 16. Can you tell me do you need to change money into local currency or can you get by in € and $s.

Sailed 4 times in the region and have always used UAE Dirhams and Omani Reals. I'm an independent traveller doing my own thing in ports, using local taxis etc, so I've always ended local currency to do that. You may get by with euros if you're going on MSC excursions but can't comment on what kind of exchange rate you'd get.

You will need AEDs for Dubai and Abu Dhabi and OMRs for Oman. Taxis, entrance fees particularly museums, the metro and abra all need local currency. Money changers are ubiquitous in UAE but much less so in Oman. Our driver / guide in Muscat 'loaned' us some OMRs to pay entrance to the Opera House which we paid back once we found a money changer back at the Souk.

If you visit Burj Khalifa remember to book from home. We used credit card to pay our bills at the Emirate Palace Hotel and the AL Bustan Palace. You will need little OMRs unless you wish to do a lot of shopping.
