sidari Posted November 15, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 15, 2013 A friendly piece of information for anyone staying in an aft balcony on Divina, be prepared for water falling onto it from the pool above,it seems it is not a design fault of the ship! Or so we are told.
sthelder Posted November 16, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 16, 2013 Which deck are you on? Is it because of the Infinity Pool? We didn't experience "water fall" on Splendida (no Infinity Pool).
Lindagop Posted November 16, 2013 #3 Share Posted November 16, 2013 Booked in an Aft Balcony for Christmas on the Divina. Cannot wait! Have not heard this complaint re water before but if that's the case then I guess will enjoy this unique cabin as previously planned!
sidari Posted November 16, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted November 16, 2013 SH ... the problem is the infinity pool being overfilled, any movement by the ship allows water to get out somewhere and Deck 12, 11 and 10 balconies are affected.
mikesteg Posted November 16, 2013 #5 Share Posted November 16, 2013 I thought an infinity pool had to be filled to the edge by definition. I guess the catch basin just isn't wide enough?
sidari Posted November 16, 2013 Author #6 Share Posted November 16, 2013 Mike ... there is clearly an issue that the glass of the infinity pool is not containing the water for some reason.
Norwegian Cruiser 73 Posted November 17, 2013 #7 Share Posted November 17, 2013 (edited) And here is the Infinity pool area of MSC Divina, I took these images last year on our Eastern Med cruise from Venice. I noticed that in high seas they didn't fill the pool up completely. Edited November 17, 2013 by Norwegian Cruiser

MM42 Posted November 21, 2013 #9 Share Posted November 21, 2013 SH ... the problem is the infinity pool being overfilled, any movement by the ship allows water to get out somewhere and Deck 12, 11 and 10 balconies are affected. Just got back from the TA. The infinity pool was overfilled only when the ship was in a port. When at sea, they kept the level of water low enough so it never got to the glass wall. Rare Kelownabccan Posted November 22, 2013 #11 Share Posted November 22, 2013 We were on the repo also.....our deck was quite wet at times with water flowing over the pool area...deck 15...then down the deck 14 windows of the buffet and onto decks 11 and 10 that stick out further than decks 13 and 12.....we had the large balcony with two loungers and two chairs and a table........they had to come and clean them up twice and then just left it wet the rest of the time later in the cruise.....happened if the pool was filled up too much or it was rough and the water went right up to the large windows at the end of the pool and the return grates could not handle the overflow....was a pain as when that was happening you could not sit outside.....a big design flaw.....also got wet when they put the automatic buffet window cleaner on and the spay came down also....out of the 18 days...probably wet half the time...so cabin steward gave us some extra towel to put by balcony door to dry out feet before we went in the room or we got extra orange pool towels..... Hope you arrived home ok ... :) Like you we had the Loungers table and chairs,a good job the woman next door to us did not spend an extra 2 minutes leaning on the balcony rail the night the pool overflowed ...

sidari Posted June 16, 2014 Author #16 Share Posted June 16, 2014 We had an aft balcony cabin on deck 9.... Never had a water issue! That is because they no longer overfill the Aft pool and leave it that way while sailing! clearly they learned a lesson.
