rance Posted February 27, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 27, 2014 Aft balcony 11301... My gf was concerned that the back of the ship won't get sun on the balcony during the day and is not centrally located. Are most people happy with these balconies and location? Any pictures would be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks Whether you get sun on your balcony in the day depends on, either, the dircetion you are heading whilst cruising, Or, the orientation of the ship when docked. The first you can get an idea of by looking at the itineary and working out how the ship is headed on cruising days at sea. The second is entirely in the lap of the gods. Centrally located often means noisy. You have chosen a cabin with (IMHO) , one of the best balconies on the ship. The cabins on deck 10 and 11 on the stern have some of the biggest on the ship ENJOY IT Personally I love cabins on the stern Here is an image showing massive shadows on centrally located balconies during the day whilst cruising at sea Pete Edited February 27, 2014 by Skier52

neptuno Posted February 27, 2014 #4 Share Posted February 27, 2014 Skier52 is very astute and helpful. The large aft balconies on Divina are much to be desired. Beware of deck 13, not a real balcony, and deck 12 where those dining above can look down at anyone sunbathing. Decks 11 and 10 seem to be ideal. There is some feedback about water dripping from above, whether the top deck pool, or window washers, is not yet clear.

tourlink99 Posted February 27, 2014 #6 Share Posted February 27, 2014 When I cruised on Divina I had some clients with me staying in the deck 10 aft cabins and I had a cat 12 cabin, and there's was "way" nicer then mine. The balcony was huge! Sent from my ME301T using Forums mobile app

Thanks Here you go; an image of a balcony on the aft Of Divina, not sure whether it is deck 10 or 11, but there won't be a great deal of difference between the two By comparison this is a standard balcony as per the centally located cabins Pete Edited February 28, 2014 by Skier52

sidari Posted March 1, 2014 #10 Share Posted March 1, 2014 (edited) Pete / Rance... the Big balcony picture is one on deck 10 ... :) Due to them being so deep the sun is sometimes blocked by the deck above at certain times of the day. "There is some feedback about water dripping from above, whether the top deck pool, or window washers, is not yet clear." Neptuno ... the deck 12,11 and 10 balconies are usually wet every morning after the window wash machine on the buffet has been used, water from the pool appears to have been dealt with by not overfilling the Aft pool as they did on the Transatlantic which means water escapes and pours down on those three decks whilst the ship is moving. I wonder what is not clear ? Edited March 1, 2014 by sidari
