Summer TA Crossings Weather

This isn't something I can research not an actual place!

I am sure that it's unpredictable and can run the gamut, but it would be helpful to have some suggestions on what to bring along for day time wear.

Are there pleasant places to sit outdoors that are relatively sheltered?

Appreciate any advice.

Hi Jacqueline,

I'm sure others here will offer advice for your first question.

Here are links to some photos to show that you are correct; the weather is unpredictable, however that there are several places to sit outdoors and read... watch the waves... lay in the sun... rest one's eyes (this latter seems to an esp favourite!).

Note how many people make the most of the sunshine (and maybe what they are wearing day-time?).

These photos were all taken mid-Atlantic on board QM2, in either May or September (not mid-summer, sorry). Hope they help.

QM2 ...DECKS 8, 7 and 6...

QM2 ...above; DECK 8. below; DECK 6...

QM2 ...the DECK 7 PROMENADE...

QM2 ...those Steamer Chairs are VERY comfortable...

QM2 ...next morning, thick fog...

QM2 ...everywhere is wet... and NO view!...

QM2 The FOG gets REALLY thick.

QM2 No view astern either

:) Have a great time on board.

Thank you so much! These are wonderful pictures. I appreciate the time it took for you to post them.

Maybe I will bring a throw for days that are chilly. Nothing like enjoying the sea! And I love the big aft pool. Lovely!

Thanks again!

Those photos above sum up the weather we had on a roundtrip last August. Some hot days (though as always, windy), some cool days, wet days, dense fog. It really is as unpredictable as people say.
I've experienced all that, all on one day, on the north Atlantic! :D :D

(All but the first is typical for any summer's day in the UK)

Happy sailings :)

Having crossed the Pond about 8 times, I can agree just how unpredictable it can be.

For example, one of the smoothest crossings we had was in November. However, unless you are determined to spend all you time outdoors, the weather does not affect the ship, as it plows on regardless.

The stern is always the most sheltered place to sit, and deck 8 is best as you also have the bar.

Enjoy exploring!
