Name on Booking Matching Documents

Recommended Posts

Perhaps an odd question...Everytime I call RC to modify a reservation, I am asked at least once (yes, several have asked me twice) if the name on my booking matches my legal travel documents. When my husband and I got married, we hyphenated our last names. I'm just curious: Is that something they ask everyone, every single time, or am I just lucky?

I find they usually ask, as do the airlines. I figured it must have something to do with passports/TSA/manifesto, etc. I would think especially as you have a hyphenated name they need to be doubly careful. When I was working I found computer systems did not handle hyphenated names well; often not enough character spaces.
