I do not mind the once a day cabin service. We hang our towels, using them a couple of days. To make it easier for the stewards I tidy my space just as I am in the habit of doing at home: gather dishes/glasses in one place, hang/fold/put away clothes, don't leave items cluttering surfaces. I only need our bed made and glasses and linens replaced as needed (when put on floor). I am thankful for anything they do above this.
Many years ago I talked with a Romanian staff in Le Bistro about her home life and why she chose to be on a ship. She was a teacher and had graduated at the top of her class. She wanted to teach 1-3 grade but due to her high achievement she was only allowed to teach grades 8-12 and didn't want to do this. She said teachers did not make much and found that she could make more $ on a ship. Things changed economically and now yo do not see many Romanians on NCL. They are predominately Indonesian and Philippians among others. There will always be those 'hungry" for the work, in my opinion.
