I think the pizza was better on Harmony in Windjammer than it was at Sorrentos [emoji85]

I've met some amazing families at sea, and I'm hoping to cruise with one particular family, in the future if all our diaries match!!

I know I'm quoting myself here but those very same friends just surprised us with a video call where they revealed to us that they are joining us on our upcoming Freedom sailing! I am so happy and excited!!

Stated from previous posts ...the fridge is now EMPTY.
Thank YOU [emoji4]

Pardon my ignorance, and apologies if this has been covered already, but what will happen if you book the cheaper, non refundable rate and then the sailing gets cancelled due to a charter/emergency dry dock etc?

Mosquitoes have no concept of on the ship and off the ship.
This bit is so important. I wouldn't risk it. Congratulations on your wonderful news :)

I was on Harmony in December 2016 - the mini fridge was empty.
I must have had an incompetent attendant [emoji22][emoji22]

I have done this every cruise that had contents in the fridge.
The room steward told me to do it since they have nowhere to store it.
Never been charged.....
You must have been one of the lucky ones :)

Instead of sitting around trying to get lucky by having the room steward help.
Just take the stuff out yourself.
Put it in the top of the closet.
On the last day, put it back.
Pretty simple for most......
Actually I was advised not to do that on this very forum because people have previously been charged for the items not being in the fridge, despite them being on the shelf above.
Have a nice day :)

It is my understanding they don't stock the mini fridge any longer. There should be a card in your cabin to order items if you wish. On my last two cruises in December and January the fridge was empty.
Thank you for the reply :) Which ship was this? Our fridge was full on Harmony in December!

Hi everybody,
The question is in the title really but let me give you a bit of background. I've read so often about lucky people who have asked their Stateroom Attendant to remove contents from the fridge. However when we have asked before, we have always been told no?
What's the official stance on this? Have I just been really unlucky? Is it that other people have just been really lucky? Hopefully I haven't opened a can of worms [emoji85]
Thanks!

Subscribed! Looking forward to hearing more about Melody* as it doesn't look like I'll be on Symphony any time soon....
*unconfirmed name of course.

Ive never had more than $100 OBC per stateroom but I have had $600 taken off the price of my cruise after booking. That's quite unusual for a British cruiser as we have different laws about it in comparison to the USA.

Here in the U.K., places often offer a "we will match online prices" tagline, because they still get paid the same hourly wage nonetheless. We have a living wage, which everyone over 25 has to have legally. Then the TA would make commission on flights, hotels, transfers, attraction tickets, rental cars etc.... just not cruises.

Our TA doesn't make any commission on any cruise she books. It is literally the same price as the website, usually with more extras thrown in.

I've never done Oasis to compare it to the other two, but entertainment on Harmony is much better than Allure. (Except Ice Games on Allure - I really love that!!)

Hi
We've done this twice, 1st time flew to Miami for 2 days then flew to SJ on the morning of the cruise, 2nd time was to Orlando for a couple of days and then again to SJ with Jetblue on the morning of the flight. We liked both but preferred via Orlando as we did shopping and it seemed easier through Orlando airport.
Thanks for the reply - was it tight on time, flying in on the morning of the cruise?

Harmony is so different that you won't be bored - the water slides, the different restaurants, the ultimate abyss, Escape the Rubicon and all the differing entertainment options (including shows) means you won't be bored. You're more likely to be bored in port [emoji6]

Hello all,
Has anyone from the UK sailed from San Juan on a Royal Caribbean ship?
If yes, which airport would you recommend doing the transfer at as there is no direct flight from the UK to Puerto Rico. Or is there?
Thanks in advance!

Hey, we're old, we started going 30 years ago when we were young:cool:
These days we don't worry about what's 'in' we just do what we enjoy:)

Looks pretty cheesy. I think I'd rather watch Wash Your Hands on repeat. Lol
Oh no!!! I'm going to have that stuck in my head all day!!

Our first cruise, Allure in 2012, Boris (from South America I think) was by far the best we have ever had. Nothing ever too much trouble, always had time for a chat and made things personal, as if we were the only stateroom he was looking after. None of the attendants have lived up to him, but I just stress that they weren't "bad" either.

I really don't like Formal night. I have to dress up in stuffy suits for work and the last thing I want is to dress in a tux/suits on my holiday. Where possible, it's a jeans and tee evening in the windjammer for me on formal nights.

Which itinerary for bringing first time cruisers?
in Royal Caribbean International
Posted
St Maarten: We took a private tour with Bernard's Tours and it was brilliant, our driver was so friendly and happy to answer any and all questions we had. He was very openly discussing the island and the islands folk and the politics. We discussed the changes made to the island that we noticed between the first time we visited and the current trip. He allowed us as much time in each place as we wanted and we didn't feel in any way pressured to move on at all. He also made some homemade rum punch which certainly made for a merry evening back on board. (We drank it before we boarded!!) I couldn't recommend Bernard's enough! Our driver also had a nice story about Oprah.... but that may have been an exclusive so I'll keep quiet on that one!
Old San Juan is wonderfully lovely and picturesque, some of the photos you can get are breathtaking, especially on the coast where the fortresses are, you can walk there safely from the ship as well. The locals were also very friendly! You wouldn't need to book an excursion to see the best of Old San Juan for sure :)
I'd choose this itinerary over a western one any day. Whilst Labadee has a great beach day, Jamaica isn't to everyone's tastes and it may be worth steering clear from there until you have gauged your friend's thoughts on cruising generally. I personally found Cozumel to be the worst port we have been to, pushy and intimidating sales people made for a less than pleasant stay. I appreciate there is an element of upsell for all locals on each respective island but we felt it was at its worst in Cozumel.
Thank you :)
