There are thousands of pictures of RC ships available on line. Wouldn't it be easier just to photoshop your sign on one of those?
-
lol it adds up fast doesn't it?!!!!
Don't you find you're drinking more, if you buy the drink package? In order to justify the cost? I can't imagine spending over $700. on booze but that's just me.
-
I know how you feel. We've only cruised the bigger ships for the last few years and it's cumbersome having to make reservations for everything. We may go back to the Freedom class ships.

I forgot my nylons and went to see what they had, which was only black & white, nothing I could or would wear so wore slacks that night
Do people still wear nylons? :) I used to take pantyhose but don't even do that now. Bare legs for me.

Always plan to get to the shows 30 minutes early. On the big ships, the lines can be long and very crowded. It's a mad house when they open the doors. My idea would be to skip the dessert course and after the show, have your dessert on the promenade.

I have them do a bag of laundry for me each day. Its a small price to pay to enable me to travel light and my room does not smell like a locker room because of used clothes laying around.
How many people are traveling with you, if you have a bag of laundry every day? You are spending over $200. for laundry on a seven day cruise. Wouldn't be worth it to me, so I'll just bring some air freshener to mask that locker room smell.:D

I'm not gonna lie...this thread has been pretty entertaining...I don't even smoke and I think I want a ciggy...hahaha
I agree..I've been reading this to my DH and we're both getting a good laugh.:D

We've done 2 weeks in Europe without the kids, 3 cruises without the kids. Weekend trips to Vegas and NYC without the kids.
I guess we're horrible parents. Just don't tell our kids, they haven't figured it out yet.
Oh, Oh, you better hope MrYellowDuck doesn't read your post.

It disgusts me that a minority of parents consider that it's okay to go off on a holiday of this type leaving their inconvenient children to the care of others. You can be sure this young child will learn the lesson that their not important enough in their parent's lives to have been included.
Your post says a lot about you. You evidently felt unloved as a child. You can be sure, most children do not feel this way.

You might be able to call Royal and ask if your room can hold additional passengers and if your still able to at this time. As earlier mentioned, if the ship is full and the lifeboat assigned to your room is at capacity, then no additional passengers can be added. Hopefully you are able to add your children and enjoy a family cruise.:)
See post #10.

If you are before final payment, you can cancel the flight from RCI and book your own (usually) cheaper!
Not that I doubt you but how many times have you cancelled a flight you booked thru RCI?

Little Buddy's Mom, thanks for making me reread that quote as you are correct. Another reason to do a RC Excursion, no bill.:p
yw :)
-
If there was a charge then RC should be going after their shore excursion provider for having a late return, not the cruiser.
According to the post, the mother was not on an RCCL excursion.:(
-
I think you mean westbound transatlantic, don't you? I prefer port side going west and starboard going east.
As far as charges for changing cabins, you need to ask your travel agent. I don't have to pay extra for changing cabins but I live in the U.S.

Cruiselines are trying to be more family oriented and usually younger people don't have formal clothes. Usually, it's Grandma you'll see in a long dress and Grandpa in a tux.
We've become a casual society. Nothing wrong with that, just the way it is. It used to be, people would "dress up" to go on a plane. Not happening anymore.
-
Sounds to me like she has all the paperwork she needs but call Royal to make sure.
Congratulations and enjoy your cruise. :)
-
The best time to book is when you find a cruise you want to take for the price you're willing to pay. :)
My understanding is, if your cruise goes down in price before final payment, you can get a refund as long as the price is not for new bookings only. I believe some have gotten shipboard credit. I've never had a cruise go down in price, so have never gotten a refund.

I don't think it's midnight, I've been out late into the last night and I've always been able to make purchases.
You're right, it isn't midnight. On our last cruise, people were still able to buy pictures in the morning, before they left the ship.
I really don't know why some people offer their opinion, when clearly they don't know.;)
-
I never book my air until I've made final payment. Even if I have to pay a few dollars more, which hasn't happened, it still beats having non refundable air, in case I cancel the cruise.
I personally would fly in the day before and if you look at flights into Ft Lauderdale, it will give you more choices. I'm surprised you don't have more flights from Philadelphia into Miami.

The interior of the Oasis class ships are beautiful and you feel so special being on them.
Also the solstice class Celebrity ships are gorgeous and very elegant...even the women's bathrooms!!:) They should have been called the Elegant class!
I agree with you on both statements. I love the Oasis class ships. Can't wait to sail on the Harmony. Hopefully, next year.
We've only sailed on the Solstice class once but the ship was beautiful.
Actually, the way a ship looks like on the outside wouldn't influence my decision on whether to sail on it. I'm more interested on the inside.
-
Can someone explain to me the difference of the ships classes? I'm new to RC and cruising first time nov 26 aboard the Harmony.
Google is your friend or go to the Royal Caribbean site. A lot of information there.
Enjoy your cruise. You're starting out on the biggest.
-
Our room colors would not qualify for a photo at home, also no free walls without something showing in the background so in the near future if we are booked on the Harmony, we will wait until check in and let them take it.
O.K.

Hi. Going on a first time and maybe only time cruise in May/June 2017. We are looking at two itineraries with Rhapsody. Wondering if anyone recommends one over the other?
May:Barcelona, Cannes,Rome, Amalfi,Sicily, Venice.
June: Venice, Dubrovnik,Ephesus, Santorini,Katakolon, Venice.
We are also looking at cruise on Freedom but finding it hard to get flight availability to match.Thinking Rhapsody may be better for a first cruise anyway as it is smaller. My mother will be 80 and is very independant but alot of walking would be tiring for her.
Look forward to reading your opinions.
This is really a tough decision. You can't go wrong with either one. Is there anyway you could do both itineraries? We've been to all of the ports on the first cruise. Venice is beautiful and Rome is exciting. It's about an hour ride from the port into Rome but well worth it. There will be quite a bit of walking in Rome but you should be able to pace yourself. From Cannes you can go to Monte
Carlo. The Amalfi coast is lovely.
If, you can only do one, I'd probably do the first one, since both cruises include Venice. Maybe, you could spend an extra day or two there.
On these itineraries, I think the Rhapsody would be fine. Not too big and not too small.
Does your Mother also live in Ireland? If so, you won't have a long TA flight. Lucky you. :)

Do people read to see if the original question has been answered? I was going to answer the O.P. until I saw three people already had. I've noticed this several times, that several people will reply with the same answer. Why?

Have you considered doing an around the world cruise on one ship? I priced the MSC Magnifica, 118 nights. (Can be booked in segments.) It has a wonderful itinerary. Base rate for single inside is $26514. Sure would be easier to plan, if you're only booking one ship. Cunard, Princess and other lines also have extended cruises.
