  1. If all four arent doable I'll leave Sagrada as I think the kids will enjoy Park Guell more.

The directions I was following for Park Guell were for a station called "El Coll La Teixonera" However the directions for the bus seem simpler still.

I plan then on going from the Hotel to Park Guell, then onto Camp Nou, then the fountain in the evening.

Its only my Husband & Daughter who are going on the Camp Nou tour, is there anything in the vicinity that I can do with my son, that anyone recommnends?

Thanks for all the advice :)

  2. We only have one day in Barcelona, the places we would like to visit are Park Guell, Camp Nou, Sagrada Famillia and the magic fountain.

We will be disembarking our ship, and plan to go to our hotel and leave our luggage. The hotel is Novotel Avenida diagonal.

I planned originally to use the HOHO bus but im worried about the time it takes to get around and queues.

I will definitely be using the metro to get to Park Guell as one of the party has some mobiliity issues and it looks easier by metro.

The T10 tickets, I have read the info online but Im finding it quite confusing. There are four of us so does that mean we would have two journeys x 4 people and then be left with two on the ticket. How does it work exactly?

  3. I can see the rome2rio being very useful. Thanks for sharing.

We're staying one night in Frontair Congress so have free airport shuttle. The port shuttle is 10 EUR each and there are four of us. The taxi using the Rome2Rio prices a taxi at 18-19 eur but I'm presuming that's the case rate without luggage. It still seems like it would be cheaper than the 40 EUR for the shuttle and more comfortable. I'm not sure how all extras for taxis work, any ideas?

  4. We are similar my son can walk but gets tired very quickly especially in the heat. Im using Shorebee for Rome and Pisa. Pisa is just a return transfer, Rome is a coach tour with some walking. Ive not actually been yet so Im not recommending them as such, but its who Ive booked.

  5. We were going to stay at the Hotel Continental but they didn't have any balcony rooms available prior to our October 1st sailing. Maybe next time. Instead, we're staying closer to the airport at the Hotel FrontAir Congress. It has free airport shuttles, a shuttle to downtown and one to the pier. I haven't seen any bad reviews on it other than people saying that there are not many amenities. But, like I said, we aren't looking for amenities. We want a bed to sleep in and access to Barcelona during the day.

Ive booked this for the night before the cruise as we only arrive at 21:15 so amenities arent a priority. Im hoping the airport shuttle still runs at this time. Do you know how much the port shuttle costs?

  6. Cruisemum42 I would be very grateful if I could have a copy of your notes. muse038 at hotmail . com

I wonder if anyone could advise. We're visiting Naples in Aug. After reading this thread I'm just planning on doing Herculeneum by train. My issue is that my son has some minor mobility problems meaning he would most probably be able to walk around the site as long as we take his wheelchair so he doesn't have to walk to and from the train station as well.

So my questions are, would there be somewhere we can leave it at the site? How far and how easy a walk is it from the train station? How accessible are the two stations?

    Any general advice?

  7. I was just about to book a few excursions on the Shorebee site. The panoramic Rome tour from Civitecchio and ones that just provide transport between port and town.

Ive checked for reviews and can only find two which seems a little suspect.

    Had anyone used Shorebee?

  8. I can totally believe this happened.

I had a cruise booked through a travel agent, I had registered a Carnival account, and had a cabin number. I logged into my carnival account to look at excursions and my cruise booking had disappeared. I then did a dummy booking and the cabin I had booked was available.

It all got sorted out, I dont kmpw what the issue was. I know this is slightly different but still.

  9. This will be only be our third ever cruise, the first with Carnival and the first B2B.

We are doing two 8 day cruises from Barcelona in August. As the cruise is so port intensive, with only one sea day this was the reasoning.

Our plan is not to leave the ship for the first 8 days. We have a better cabin, Family Harbour, deluxe ocean view and we will purchase the cheers package.

The second sailing we won't buy cheers, we have a family harbour inside cabin just across from the previous cabin, so not far to move. We plan to do all of our excursions.

    Eeek excited :)
