  1. We have been reading posts how the SOS really needs some updating. Would like to hear from recent cruisers on the condition of the ship. We are scheduled to sail on her in October. Heard that beds are not very comfortable & that crate toppers are not available. Any information would be appreciated.

  2. We will be cruising New England the first week of October with stops in Bar Harbor, Portland, Halifax & St. John. My wife wants to know if we will get to see fall foliage with the available excursions for these ports.

  3. Due to the construction at LGA we are considering flying into EWR & taking the train to Penn Station then a cab to our hotel in Times Square. My question is where do we put 2 large suitcases on the NJ Transit? From what I have seen the train seems to be the fastest way to get into NYC.

  4. Head to Seven Seas when you embark for lunch instead of going to the buffet to have a very quiet, uncrowded meal. There were probably less than 20 people there when we ate. Menus are posted daily outside the MDR. We liked breakfast in Great Outdoors as opposed to MDR. MDR breakfast took forever. Plus you get to see the great scenery outdoors.

  5. We liked the atmosphere better in Seven Seas. Jeans are allowed in both MDR. Alaska cruise atmosphere is very informal & relaxed. Loved the Sun although it does have a quirky deck plan. Smaller ship than Pearl or Jewel. Great itinerary. We liked the food in MDR just as much as specialty restaurants.

  6. Will be traveling on Serenade of Seas in October & wanted to know if there are independent tour vendor booths at the piers. This is how we booked our excursions on our Alaskan cruise & the prices were considerably cheaper than ship tours. Recommendations for independent tours would be greatly appreciated. We are going to Halifax, Bar Harbor, Portland, St. John.
